Anyyywayyy... My husband also drives about 100 miles per day round trip for work and he's not excited about rising prices. Thankfully he drives a Chevy Malibu that gets good gas mileage so that helps. He's looking to start driving his motorcycle but wants new brakes on it before he starts riding it for distance and in city traffic.

Damn.  Him and Eric are committed.  I feel for y’all.  That’s gotta be strenuous.  I know it’ll get worse before it gets  better.  But hopefully not too bad. It’s a catch 22 trying to live away from the chaos as well as trying to earn a living. Thoughts and prayers to both y’all and any other doing the same.

Thanks man. If hubby wasn't fully involved in his career he would look closer for something else. He used to work five minutes from where we live but changes in upper management around 12-13 years ago led him to transfer to his current location. The domicile was paid for and he wasn't looking to take on a mortgage payment for an hour's drive. At the time no big deal. 

More than a decade on and 14 hours away from home every work night- he's ready to be done with it. The current situation doesn't help. Retirement is not an option yet so we suck it up and drive on and trust the Creator to provide what we need.

It took a long time to find something better. The wife had a gig that was only about 10 miles away. When you have two peoples' jobs to account for it's a lot harder. When I got into that situation, I couldn't afford a big truck or a land yacht like my dad drives. But somewhere along the way making my commute, I resolved that I would always own a small, fuel efficient car, just in case.

I’ll agree to that.  My wife and I have been looking for another place to live/land.  Her needs and my needs are vastly different.  At least on a commuting basis. Her and I both, in the past have traveled 60+ miles to work each day.   There are places we have found that would work for her but not me.  She’s used to an hour commute.  My business is more so locally.  I can’t be in Two places at once and run a business.   It’s either one or the other sacrificing or ditching our jobs.  Neither of us are ready to do that. In the interim, we’re both left without what we really want and stuck where we are.

It's the same way with precious metals.  We could easily produce all of the iron, steel, and even lithium that we need as well.  There's no reason for us to be sending money to China for lithium.  

We need to diversify and use wind, solar, nuclear, coal, natural gas - the all of the above solution.

Because career politicians can't make any money that way. They're all in the same bed with these multinational corporations that give them campaign money and kickback money underneath the table. It's too convenient to make our own Country self sufficient and reliable. Plenty of room here for growth, expansion and a boon of potential for a number of generations to come. 

I know it might sound "cheesy" to share this here. And a lot of you have probably already seen this. I honestly never watched the show on HBO. However, this little scene is painstakingly accurate. Even now more than ever.
