We are so bad at developing talent.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

I would rather have had him than Jones. But I’m not going to lose my mind over it. I think some of these guys that we’ve had who are not being resigned is as much about Doug wanting to put his own players in the locker room as anything. Think about it. This will be the third or fourth regime for some of our guys. Sometimes it’s just better to shake it all up and start clean.

I'm not losing sleep over Chark either. Best of luck to him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Couple thoughts. First one of two things is true, Chark didn't want to be here or we had no intention of re-signing him. I think it's the latter. Based on the contract he signed and where he signed I'm wondering how many franchises did want him.
I mean if multiple offers are out there are you really going to pick Detroit and Goff over just about anywhere else? I liked Chark. Wanted to keep him and believe he has the talent to be a #1 guy. That being said he's gone and I'm not gonna cry about it, especially if we draft a very good WR and have a room of Jones Jr, Kirk, Tay, Viska (still a weapon imo) and the rookie. Why couldn't it be both that Chark did not want to be here and the Jags had little intention of signing here? They are not exclusive of either other. These things are not one sided, people keep ignoring what Chark may or may not have wanted.

I like Kirk better as the deep threat. I like that Doug's offense doesn't require a beastly #1 receiver. Trevor can distribute the ball to a variety of weapons.

Hey man i am not crying just not sure i am digging the way it shook out. Overall i am stoked on the direction.
Still apples to apples i would have preferred chark. All i am saying no spilt milk here. (03-15-2022, 03:13 PM)TheDogCatcher Wrote: Chark never put it all together and was an injury risk. I don't think Doug is going to be able to run "his offense" very much here though. What we think of as his offense is probably the heaviest 2 TE offense in the league outside of maybe NE. We have major non blocking TE and extremely expensive slot receiver problems. If we have 2 TE we only have 2 receivers, and Kirk is proven not good at all outside. Doug is going to have to adapt to his personnel.

Got Engram, Arnold, and Jones Jr. to dink and dunk and move the chains. Got ETN and JRob to slice up teams on screens. Got Kirk to take the top off. I'm not sure the Eagles had all that more talent aside from Ertz in his prime.

Kirk is a field stretcher as far as slot WRs are concerned, but he's not a take the top off the defense kind of guy. We still very much need a vertical outside WR.

I'm just ready to settle on Pickens or maybe Watson. (03-15-2022, 04:34 PM)Upper Wrote:(03-15-2022, 04:29 PM)Cleatwood Wrote: Trading up for Jamo man. I'm a Dawg fan til I die. I think Kirk we be successful and highly productive if he has a compliment like in the days of mcCardell and smith. But if we are expecting Christian Kirk to carry this bunch of receivers we have on the roster and open up the offense for everyone then we deserve what we get next year.. and thats another year of struggles for Lawrence… I was not sold on Chark. For a big guy he really didn’t seem to have that quality of a dominant go getter although he had one productive year he never really took over games or showed the ability to. I think we can get better and I hope we have a plan as there are still options in free agency and lots of good wideouts in the draft. But please please please don’t finish this off-season with just camp fodder at the position. (03-15-2022, 05:13 PM)TTechJag85 Wrote:(03-15-2022, 04:50 PM)I am Yoda Wrote: I'm a Dawg fan til I die. The hope would be for the offensive game plan and play calling to carry the WR's and TLaw grow into doing that. |
