Red Bryant is visiting with jaguars

Quote:I don't think he will cost much as he is really a two down player. I won't lose sleep if we don't sign him but he makes the team better. Exactly. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Quote:No, players like Jairus Byrd, Greg Hardy and a few others are/ were worth it. But the number of players in free agency that are actually worth persuing are very small compared to the amount of actual free agents available. Most are average players that get paid like stars. With logic like this, the Jaguars would have never signed Keenan McCardell

Hes an upgrade over Tyson. Those two would form a solid rotation for the 5 tech. Combine that with a healthy Roy Miller and Marks and the run D could be pretty good. If we get a guy like Micheal Johnson and then Clowney/Mack the defense could actually be a real strength.
Quote:Have you ever thought of teams dont run at Red Bryant and teams want to run at Alu? How about Alu played about double the snaps Red did because Sea. only used Red on 1st and 2nd downs and short yardage plays and at the end of the year they started playing more pass rushers? Alu played better this year but is average at best. And were done here Red Bryant is a huge upgrade on what we have on our terrible run defense, only Marks is better

He'd be a decent stop gap type like Geno Hayes and Wil Blackmon. Doubt he would really cost too much.

TMD floundering yet again on his mere opinion as if it is some sort of decree we've all come to an agreement with
Ok so I don't know much about red Bryant. Could someone tell me if he plays the same position as Roy Miller or Alualu? Or both?
Quote:<div> He primarily plays the "Elephant" position on our defense (which is Alualu's spot), however they do switch him inside (Roy Miller) at times as well. </div> I would prefer Arthur Jones as our "Elephant"......but Bryant might be more cost effective.

Run stuffing DT.. something that Roy Miller was supposed to be..
I could see them signing Bryant and drafting another DT in the later rounds to "groom"

Quote:For what it's worth, since 2008 he's had 3 sacks total. You dont understand how the defensive system works so...
Quote:You dont understand how the defensive system works Yes, we get it, you need a run stuffer from the position first & foremost... That said, I can't see how if theres a player out there who is stout in run defense AND also possesses some QB pass rush ability too, that that wouldn't be a better option than Red Bryant. More talented player > less talented player. Always. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Per Adam Schefter's twitter, Red Bryant agrees to terms on a 4 year deal with Jags. I wonder what the figures are.

FWIW, the reviews on PFT are favorable thus far...

Sweet. How much money though? 4 years may be too long for Bryant but he will improve our D
