Colts first pick wasn't until 53 and they have wound up with Pierce, Jelani, Raimann, and Cross. That's phenomal.

Well a surprise to me a defensive draft. All I can say is whether it is good or bad our rookies will do whatever fast...

I really like Kolar. He seems like he will be there in the 5th.

Romeo Doubs maybe there when we pick isn’t the fastest guy but he’s 6’2” and has been very productive in college reminds me of Jimmy Smith more a possession receiver.  I like a few other receivers like heiligh, and Dai’jean Dixon in late rounds both productive players.

Would like Max Mitchell also guy is very versatile could play several places on the OL.

I'm not at all upset about the way the draft has shaken out but I did expect a pass catcher to be selected between rounds 2-5 (back then we had a 4th round pick when I was conceptualizing this)

Still, it makes no sense to think the organization sees WR as a need to be addressed high in the draft after the investment in FA.

You would be considering it a wasted the pick that could be used on more immediate needs if the expectation is that they will be buried on the depth chart due to what you did in FA.

I mean in the modern NFL you play 3 wide receivers as a base. Kirk is great, Marvin Jones is near the end of his career and needs to be replaced. Laviska Shenault is an enigma & we signed Zay Jones who's solid but not spectacular. I can easily see adding a guy to seamlessly take over for MJJ opposite Kirk. It depends on how they feel about the talent available outside of the first round; obviously there was a steep dropoff which is why they were so aggressive in free agency imho.
Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

I did not realize how explosive Muma was. I’m not going to claim I’ve watched a bunch of Wyoming football over his career.

A 40 in vert and 129 in broad are very impressive for a guy that big.

Yeah this is exciting. Our line backing crew is very nice. Then, three good cbs. I mean you know the rest. This defense will be very exciting to watch. Now, we should add a running back maybe and another o-line and wr. It looks like we are locked in with bartch starting at left guard for this season. I'm not sure about that. I hope we dont have any injuries on the o-line or wr because then the jags offense could be up [BLEEP] creek again.

We should give the Steelers a call about the availability of Claypool.

Looking back at day one and two, the surprising thing is the emphasis on defense.  When you consider the pick included in the trade up, we effectively used four out of our five top draft picks to advance the defense.  While I'm feeling good about our defense, I'm concerned that we didn't do enough for our offense.  It's unlikely day 3 will alleviate that concern.  Assuming no trade up, we don't pick until the middle of the fifth round.  While teams can get lucky, we're realistically looking at backups at this point.  I hope our free agent signings will be enough to put more points on the board because we're not going to get a lot of offensive help from this draft.

With Dan Arnold getting healthy and signing Evan Engram I don't think TE is a pressing need early, but if there's good value in the mid to late rounds I can see taking a flier

We signed two big contract WRs in FA.

Why would you expect one to be drafted early?

Makes no sense.

We signed two, but in today's NFL, you mostly have three wide receivers on the field at the same time and it doesn't hurt to even have a fourth on the roster for depth, situational use, dime situations and to give the starters a breather.  Additionally, Marvin Jones Jr is an aging player and in the final year of his contract.  Many think it makes sense to bring in a young player and even if he doesn't take a starting role initially, at least we would be grooming him for the following year when MJJ likely departs.  Also, as previously stated, there is concern that we have a bunch of Y and Z receivers.  Diversifying our wide receiver core by getting a true X wide receiver would be seen by many as a big positive for our offense.

Chad Muma was a guy I really wanted, it's funny I had him mocked at 65 in my 7 round mock, I believe I had fortner mocked in like the 5th round but he's a solid player regardless. Devin Lloyd is a freak tho, never thought we'd have the ability to get him and his story is amazing. I kinda like the prospect of going back to a 4-3 tho. Not sure who would be the weak/strong/mike of the group but i'd like all 3 on the field in most situations, and lloyd/olukun in nickel.
