Yes it would help show cause if the Jags didn't know anything about it. They already knew per his agent. They did nothing.

Khan or a fall guy goes down and the Jags are punished if this reaches trial. There is no defense since it was reported. If they fight it, they have to open their records and show they covered up for him.

You can't claim cause when you ignored or found nothing wrong with the previous actions.

It depends on what is found if it gets to discovery. I agree there is no way they let it get that far but it takes Lambo being willing to settle or paying him enough to go away.

Ignoring complaints of a boss kicking an employee is not good and we all assume this wasn't the only thing Meyer did that the Jags let slide. NFLPA is already pissed at the Jags so adding more flames would be terrible.

It all depends how bad Meyer was.

I just think it’s far more likely it was a hard tap or thump like “hey [BLEEP] I’m talking to you”than an actual attempt at a kick to cause pain or injury.  If that is in fact the case, then in my eyes running to the media to tell this story does more damage to Lambo than to Meyer for me.  Lambo had several better alternatives for handling this.

I get you’re trying to establish a pattern of behavior, I just don’t think an unpaid 18 year old college kid and millionaire Josh Lambo in the uber results driven league that is the NFL are the same thing.

Regardless, if dude is mid-stretch knocking him off-balance could lead to non-contact injury that is so very easily avoidable. When a kid is already struggling with accuracy or distance, last thing I want to do is contribute to their difficulty. Someone sitting on the bench, a tap of your foot on theirs to get attention, fine. Call him a sissy kicker, make fun of his curly locks, skinny arms, whatever to get his attention and establish your demeanor, but be smarter about your players' physical health. That's all.

I absolutely agree that Lambo is embellishing the intensity of the contact, as most everyone tends to do when they feel wronged. And yes, I also believe that Meyer would be just as harsh to a teenager as he would a pro football player.

hypothetically, all that is for naught if the team has any communication suggesting that they begin looking for replacements due to his sporadic performance on the field prior to the report from his agent as to Meyer's action.

Not really as this isn't criminal, unless he is now pushing for battery charges. If he can show he filed a misconduct report on his boss and his boss then fires him, it's really hard to say we were already looking for a replacement so it doesn't matter if he kicked me and then got rid of me.

the suit alleges wrongful termination as a whistleblower. if the team can establish that wheels were already in motion to replace him before he tooted his whistle, it's going to be a challenge to cite the reported misconduct as the sole reason he was let go. Let's face it, he was struggling on the field. That's what complicates this suit - there's just as much argument to say he was let go for failing to perform as there could be to say it was retaliatory.

all that said, I still feel that the team will see it more worthwhile to agree to some figure to settle this with no disclosure rather than subject their books, internal communications and the like to outside scrutiny.
