Lol, he's way better than trunt says...but I fear his ultimate ceiling is QB purgatory along the lines of Dalton/Schaub/Sanchez/Garrard/etc. I don't really want him but I think he's along the type that Dave will want since he seems to be playing this out very conservatively.

Mettenberger was already slow before his ACL. Pretty sure Dave and Gus both want a QB that can use his wheels time to time to keep the chains moving and defenses on their toes. McCarron ... Have you seen his tattoos?

The 2nd tier QB I list aren't QB I'd want as sole options. they are QB I'd want in addition to one of the QB listed in the 1st tier. 

 

Mettenberger as a developmental QB would be fine.

Looks pretty reasonable. I'd add the kid out of Wyoming (Smith I think?) and Fales to the Second tier. I'm not sold on Fales, but I can easily see the fit in our offense.
