Jaguars meet with QB graded as late round/UDFA type = We'll pass on QB in the first round.

Gotta love the Lacanfora logic.

I get the feeling that Caldwell is trying to pull a Kyrie Irving esque cross over on the Brows and Raiders though lol

I enjoyed that as well. I doubt Shaw goes before the 6th round, regardless of whether he's drafted as a QB or as an ATH who could be developed at a different position. Drafting a QB in six or seven does not preclude you from drafting one in the first or second round. If Shaw is drafted as the QB of the future, we have problems.

Exactly. He would be an upgrade over Matt Scott as your 3rd string/practice squad/developmental guy. But not a chance the Jaguars are changing their early draft strategy because of Connor Shaw.

And any comparison attempt to Russell Wilson is embarassing.

Dude is a winner.  Too bad he gets hurt often.

Connor Shaw is from Flowery Branch, where the Falcons have their team offices and hold training camp. Shaw's dad was the head coach at the local high school for 10 years. His brother was the starting QB before him. Caldwell probably knows the Shaws from his time in Atlanta and likes the kid. I seriously doubt if he is being looked at as anything more than a late rounder.

Mid-round? He'll be lucky to hear his name called in the sixth.

He's not a mid round QB. He will be lucky to be drafted.

My SEC Qb rankings:

1. Manziel

1B. Mettenberger (despite the rickety leg)

2. Shaw (injury prone and suspect arm scare me)

3. McCarron (his tattoo will likely demand its own contract)

4. Murray (he seems kinda derp)

The seventh round is not, by any definition conceivable, a middle round.

How are the 4th-7th rounds middle rounds?

Quote:I think Bridgewater at 3 is better value than Mack at 3, yes.

Why is everyone expecting him to be drafted during the first three rounds? He'll get selected during the 5th round or later if so. Remember how late Tom brady went.
