even young team like Seattle have vets on the roster like Cliff Avril, Bennett, Clemmons, and others, having a team full of guys 4 years or less not gonna win you anything

I wouldn't have minded to overpay for legit top flight pass rushing talent like Greg Hardy or even Orakpo, but I do mind overpaying for average guys like Bennett, M Johnson, and a few others that are left in FA. 

 

I'd rather just address pass rushers in the draft at this point. 

 

If you think Michael Johnson & Michael Bennett (he recently signed) are "average" DE's you are truly mistaken, Michael Johnson was dominant against the run last year and was amongst league leaders in QB pressures with 61, disruptive is production, and Michael Johnson has been truly disruptive in Cincinnatti over the past 2 years, he's one of the best DE's in football. You can't cherry pick stats as they don't always tell the story.

Hawk fan here. He very much is in the Pete Carroll/Gus Bradley System. Monster at the LEO in 2011 and 2012 before tearing his ACL in the playoffs against the Redskins.

Was not in the same form early in 2013 with the addition of Michael Bennett (Just re-signed with Seatte) and Cliff Avril. Showed great improvement toward old self in playoffs and SB.

 

He is very likely to be a cap casualty (9.6 cap number and 2.1 in dead money) following the re-signing of Bennett.

 

If Hawks cut him, expect the Jags to go after him.

Michael Johnson isn't even best De on Bengals. Carlos Dunlap and Dt Geno Atkins are beast.

There's something fishy about this.   Babin is 33 years old and was scheduled to make $6 million this season.   It wouldn't seem like such a wise choice for him to void this contract on his own decision.   The team must have told him something.   What did they tell him?   That they don't need him now, since they have lined up a replacement in free agency?

Not saying one has to do with the other - only that they have likely been negotiating with at least one agent representing a FA DE.
