That didn't last long. Amazing how fast a players stock can fall.

Revis is still arguably the best corner in the league.

The problem is it makes no sense for a new GM of a rebuilding team to keep him at the insanely overpaid contract he had.

Makes more sense to release him and use the money elsewhere. Or save the money since the Bucs owners are known for being notoriously cheap.

So the Bucs are basically cutting their 1st round pick from last year. #WeArentTheBucs

I wonder what kind of contract now he will get on the open market.

Whatever you say brooklyn

I know we wont sign him but it would be nice to see Daryl Smith in a Jags uni again.  Last year he looked like the old D Smith

He had 123 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions in 2013. Smith also had 99.6 percent playtime on defense.

bring him back on a short term reasonable deal. I wouldn't mind it either. He'd probably still be our best linebacker.

WLB- Mack

MLB- Poz

SLB- D. Smith

Mack becomes the second LEO in sub packages.

And we can continue to develop Reynolds and John L. behind Poz and Smith.

Lots of tweets about handshake agreements with many guys already, and lots of other rumors flying around. Nothing about the Jags whatsoever though.

Either Dave runs the tightest ship ever right now or we won't be getting any notable signees early.

I agree. Haven't heard anything bout Jags. I'm thinking the top free agents get scooped up leaving us the scraps

That we would want the Jags to get...it sounds like Dietrich-Smith has a deal in place with the Giants and Asamoah has one with the Falcons.

Just like Michael Bennett had a deal in place with the Bears?

The agents play the media and leak info about deals they have "in place" to drive up the cost of a player.

The media folk like Lacanfora, Mortensen and company tweet it out.

And some fans lap it up like it's fact.
