A third could be easily given in return for Revis after that deadline, so it still doesnt make sense to cut him.

If we were closer to the playoffs, yes....in our current situation, no.

I don't know that he would consider it without the team reaching out and showing genuine interest in him. For a guy of his caliber, I think you absolutely have to take a look at him. But it's as we discussed before; you make sure that he won't be tearing the team apart if contract issues pop up.

Absolutely kick the tires, but a team that's knocking on the door of a Super Bowl run will pay him more.

Great move by the Patriots.  It didn't take long for them to overcome the loss of Aqib Talib.   In terms of risk,  what a difference between the contract the Patriots gave to Darrelle Revis and the one the Broncos foolishly gave to Talib.
