The pluses and minuses of week 1

#21

*The good is that overall our team should've won that game. NEVER leave points on the field, if we would've taken said points the first half would've been much different. And the second half as well.

Kirk laid claim to the #1 WR position.

Robinson is back.

Richardson will earn his money.

Walker had an awesome debut.

*The bad is that overall our team committed too many penalties that'll need to be cleaned up by next week.

Griffin needs to be replaced.

The tackling was atrocious.

Defensive adjustments (not enough pressure) MUST be made within the first qtr and not at the half.

TAKE THE FREAKING POINTS! There's a time to be aggressive and a time not to be aggressive. That's on our HC and he now knows it.

We have alot of cleaning to do but I did see progress.

NH3...

I really thought our defense would be better than what we saw yesterday.

A lot of our mistakes are correctable.  We have good coaches this year, and I have faith we will correct enough of those mistakes to get 7 wins.  But if we get 7 wins, we will still absorb 10 losses, and losing sucks.

We still need a lot of players.  "With the 10th pick in the first round, the Jacksonville Jaguars select a CB."  Our secondary pretty much sucked yesterday.

I don't see how you can say this when we beat the Bills, Colts, and Dolphins

I remember a lot of the games we lost were over in the first quarter.  "Time to go mow the back yard."  That sort of thing.   Last year, if we had been behind 14-3 at any point in the game, there was no chance.  And we all knew it.

You get the ball back with 1:46min and need a score. This is normal NFL stuff! And due to bad O-Line play you dont event give yourself a chance. After a nice throw by Trev and the PI, there was a false start on Walker Little, then Trevor was hammered while he barely was able to throw the ball away, then he was hammered and STILL completed to Kirk for a small gain and then he was rushed out of the pocket and hammered again, while he should not have thrown that ball in the first place of course.

I dont understand why they did not address the O-Line more. Instead they gave Cam an extension, thought Shatley at LG would be a great idea and Tayler would stop being Taylor. It will be a problem all season.

Way to completely ignore how embarrasingly bad we were in most of the 14 losses.

Lost to tinhorns, seahags, broncos, failcons.

And you'd be a fool to not comprehend that our losses were nowhere near as closely contested as our extremely few wins.

Putting that D up against Matt Patricia was giving them an early cupcake. Pats are in trouble.

We still won 3 games and were close in some othere losses.  Close games are nice but at the end of the day a win is a win and a loss is a loss.  I'd rather win 8 games and lose 9  by 20 points a game than win 2 and lose 15 by 1 point

I actually like Campbell, Williams and Griffin as a trio.

Now our outside playmaking WR? Jags desperately need one of those. Boutee or the kid from OSU will do just fine.

I have a bad feeling that lawrence will become a solid qb over time but will likely be that guy who chokes in the 4th. He seems to fall off when the sames on the line.

So losing to the Pats by 40 last year was fine, as long as we beat the Phins on a last-second FG?

We weren't losing 14 games by a point last season. We were getting manhandled by the league's cellar dwellers. But hey, we got a fluke win, that cures all ills!

And garbage time scores made a lot of those losses look much closer than they were.

So yeah, I can fully understand what Marty was saying. Last year, if we found ourselves down 14-3, the only thing left undecided was the final score. We weren't erasing deficits.

He had an average game but I was expecting more out of Josh Allen. I was expecting him to DOMINATE the Commanders Oline but he didn't. The team only had 1 sack and 4 QB hits. Need more.

And obviously, the Oline was bad. Trevor pressured on almost half of his drop backs when they're only rushing with 4?

I was expecting more from Arden Key too
