Man, the excuse making.  He's not a superstar.  He's a bust.  It happens.

Riddle me this:  If he's not a bust and it's everyone else's fault then how's he get any better?  You can only roll over about 20% of a starting lineup in year, so that's at least three years until he's got the talent that you can't blame anymore.  If he were great then he would be shooting the lights out and the team still losing.  But he's not.  He can't read defenses.  He can't make adjustments.  He checks down poorly.  His footwork is lame.  Elevating the QB coach who was supposed to be teaching him game is not the answer.  The shot caller should not be the guy who failed to improve TL one iota this year.

Anyways, I'm here cheering for one player and TL's success or failure won't affect his personal success, which is going fine.  I would like to see a better QB, though, so that he could enjoy some team success.

WT F is a bust comparison?  Facts would be nice?  What do you mean?  Do you mean that you don’t think he’s clearly played two very solid games and this is a big improvement over last year?  We’ve got some tough audiences around here but you’re something else.


If you’re instead saying that I should be fully on the TL-is-God bandwagon after two very good games then not yet.  He’s improved and is playing well in the system, no doubt, but that a superstar does not make.  The team is firing on all cylinders and the coaches have out-performed the opposition pretty clearly these last two weeks.  The defense has been playing especially well, which always cranks up the heat on an opponent.

When TL can play well when the other side brings the goods, then I’ll really start to back him.  Until then I hope he keeps playing well within the confines of the game plan, which has been very good.  I didn’t think there was a chance in hell that he could develop into that.  Well, he’s started showing some real ability.  This guy may go places.  I hope he does.

Lol sorry I'm late. You two clowns are the ones showing your ridiculous qb evaluation takes in the thread, so I'm asking for facts. Any fan past entry level should understand QB development. It's only the most important position on the field lol. If a QB comes in a rough situation with little to nothing on offense n a bottom tier Defense, one can only hope to see great throws here and there, growth no matter how small, and mental confidence to stay strong and focused on improvement with the growing pains.

You Clowns get on here and as so called jags fans start spewting nonsense like u have no competent understanding of the roster, coaching, hell anything. Tl is underperforming/he sucks not caring that the coach was trash, the WR were playing trash, RB wasn't being used correctly, line was struggling, defense was struggling, none of that. Tl just sucks and is overrated. Sounds like he slept with some fam if you ask me. The man showed potential and grew a little through a horrid situation for any QB yet gets bashed by his own so called people.

Herbert gets a dual threat at WR a decent TE and stupid potential on defense, mahomes I shouldn't even need to speak on what they have, Lamar is a one man show but still a more solid overall team and coaching, et al. Yet our QB is worse because he hasn't put up those type of numbers yet etc. Gtfoh. Just sot down and unless u can put up qb busts that have had the same Stats and situation Lawrence has had then mute urself. Just sit down with ur friend in the clown corner.


Oh and fyi.....no one has said these TL is God comments etc yet I see yall keep using that as a base to stay salty. Keep at it, nothing better than a live roast and getting slow cooked.

Oz, I think you get a little bit of a bad rap around here as your posts can sometimes be reasonable compared to others that share your mindset, but this one… woof.  

We should collect all the “Trevor is a bust”, “Walker will be a bust”, and “Fire Baalke because of [flimsy reasons interpreted in the most negative light possible because that’s what I was told to do] hot taeks and put them in a single “Wall of shame” thread and pin it and lock it.  First post should just be an image of the clown face without comment.

Trevor isn’t making the leap, he’s already made the leap. The baldy breakdown of the chargers game where he talked about the chargers D taking the cheese, that’s high level stuff from Trevor there. As soon as the LB bit towards Kirk, Trevor immediately throws in the now open lane to Zay for the completion. Beautiful stuff.

Imagine if (last year)  he'd had a coach that knew what to do with a young QB in the NFL and a playbook designed to mitigate his youthful shortcomings and capitalize on his strengths. 

He has that now, and he literally had the furthest thing from that one could ever dream up last year. 
They threw the kid to the wolves. 

I'm just glad that utter debacle brought us Pederson, Walker and the current state of things, but the kid's development was stunted. He'd be even better off right now if he didn't have to wade through that swamp of incompetence last season.

The good news is the playcaller is the head coach, so he's not going anywhere. Some more good news is that the trends in the NFL right now are to hire offensive coaches as head coaches, so Caldwell will probably be here longer than he should be.

Since Press Taylor is a young offensive coordinator whose brother has had success he'll probably be this first guy out of here, and it could be this season if Trevor continues kicking [BLEEP] and taking names.

The good news in Press leaving is I don't think he's integral to what we're doing, so hopefully one way or another Trevor doesn't have to put up with too significant a change this off-season.

I think Press is 34 this year so he's probably two years out from a head coach job. Maybe we'll keep this group together through 2024 and at least one Super Bowl.

Good points regarding Pederson and Caldwell.  In regards to Press, I think his stay may also be longer than it should be due to him not being the play caller.  Other teams looking for a head coach may give the offensive credit to Pederson.
