I would say Pederson out coached himself. If on field performance issues are clearly indicating the game plan isn’t going to work, then adjust. If I read his post game statement correctly, he went into the game planning on an air attack that simply wasn’t working, yet he continued to force it. JRob mysteriously disappeared, along with the rest of our running game in the second quarter, and the script was immediately flipped. Doug screwed the pooch.

My take is that we are built for speed. Crap weather conditions do not bode well for teams that are light in the pants, as Vic liked to call it.

Keep this in mind should we continue to accrue wins throughout the season, Playoff games in wintry weather may yield similarly discouraging results.

We got abused in the run game. I wondered if we had the wrong cleats on or something, we had zero push on so many plays.

We abandoned the run, or at least did not put nearly enough effort into establishing that aspect of our offense. The weather was pootastic, and we put everything on Trevor.

Credit where it's due, we did keep it close, which was my goal throughout the preceding week. Considering how often we turned it over, the results could have been drastically worse.

This is one of those dad moments, I'm not mad...I'm disappointed.

Turnovers and gave up over 200 yards rushing will get you beat period. 

Didn’t play well enough to beat a team that was better overall than we were, but we were still in it .

We are not a bad team. But we are not elite and I think this division between us and Tennessee is going to go down to the wire… I am not sold on how good our run d is yet though.  Philly is really good but so is Tennessee up front and with Henry who has killed us so many times.  I knows it a different running scheme and eagles have an athletic qb we needed to respect but I think we got pushed around alot today up front on defense and that concerns me … over 200 yards rushing is no fluke and it’s not like Hurts was the one gashing us they were shoving it down our throats. 


Also I’m not sure exactly where Trevor is… he is not a bad qb …. But he def is not elite …. Missed on some throws, held the ball a really long time at times, looked down some receivers, and turned the ball over… obviously a very poor day from him. But I don’t think he will be this bad every week.. hopefully he bounces back big these next two weeks and we are able to sweep the colts and beat the Texans.

Also that kid reddick schooled jawaan taylor. Wouldn’t mind eventually having a staff that looks to upgrade that spot… it seems we have been content with it for years and it’s a shame walker little was not the answer.

The one thing I noticed on the bomb early that he missed, he missed it long and overthrew Agnew (IIRC) on a double move. If he misses short, that's a easy pick for the defenders. When Trevor misses, he tends to miss where the least damage is possible. I wonder if he was too familiar running that play with Zay, or the damp conditions altered the anticipated game speed for Agnew.

The  staredown of Kirk that led to the late pick was a bad mistake, but I am certain that not only he catches it, but Doug will point out the same and work on that.

It was an ugly game all around. There's still plenty of lessons for the team to learn from the day, but let's hope that we don't have to play in many games with similar weather conditions as we saw yesterday .

Excuses aside, the Eagles played a good game and didn't panic when down 14-0. We never really adjusted to the running game and couldn't get off the field when we needed to. Lawrence went on to have his worst game of the young season. Turnovers really doomed us. I think the Jaguars were the better team, we just couldn't execute long enough. We had a fast start which was really important. Sad to see us collapse how we did but I have faith the team will be better for it. Always room for improvement and consistency is hard to come by.

It rained a good bit of Thursday here early. They couldnt just go out for an hour and work on center/qb snaps and general handling of the ball in the rain/wind? It was a perfect opportunity. Someone at 1 Jaguar place certainly must have figured that it would be raining in Philly based on the remnants of Ian.  Not good prep for ball security IMO.  Lawrence fumbles it 2 less times and we most likely win the game.  Excuses based on weather is BS, the Eagles played in the same weather.

go back and count how many snaps the offense played, including plays that were negated by penalty. One fumbled exchange. ONE. For the entire game.

Didn't Hurts have one play where they snapped before he was even ready to receive the shotgun snap? They were just fortunate enough to fall on the ball, we were not.

And really, go practice in the middle of this tropical storm, debris be danged! SMRT.

He is averaging 4.2 ypc.  I like what I have seen a few games in his career.  He looks very explosive and it's just a matter of time before he hits a big one.

This year we are 2-2 and outscored our opponents 105-67.   That represents an improvement of +10 points per game on offense while giving up 12 points less per game on defense.

8 carries / 33 yds don't impress-a me. I'm not calling him the second coming of Toby Gerhart, but I figured we'd see more opportunity to get him in space. Hopefully the tinhorns don't let us down in that dept.

Yeah, the fumbles sucked, but the most frustrating thing to me was not getting off the field on 4th down. They were 4-15 on third down, which is great. But they were 3-5 on 4th down, which is painful. We knew what they were going to do every time, and we could not stop them. I mean when they are playing 4 down territory from the 1st quarter on, it changes everything about how you are going to approach D. I mean 3rd and long isn't really an accomplishment at that point.

The INT was bad too, but the defender made a good jump on the ball. Initially it looked like he was dropping back into deeper coverage and realized his guy made a quick out(and TL was staring at his [BLEEP]), so he adjusted jumped the route. The ball should have been on the way before Kirk turned, and he stared him down way too long before pulling the trigger, but it was a good play by the DB. I think he almost unintentionally baited him into the throw because he had his hips turned like he was dropping into coverage right before TL made the throw.

That game was tough to watch. I always said before the season I would be ok with an L if it was close and we were in the game....but..... It still sucks

Yep, was a good play by the CB. He set the trap and TL walked into it. It was a good play by a good player.  Yes, the throw was a bit late too.
