Texas played cover two because they didn't fear the long ball.  They need to stop runs and short passes.  Stack the line, let the safeties cover deep until you get burned.  Didn't get burned, cover two all day.  The Jags will be facing cover two from now on, until TL starts hitting deep balls and makes teams adjust.

It's a common story in the NFL.  Jackpots are rare.  No deep threat, no ability to read.  Two seasons and then a career backup.

"Houston" played cover 2 because that's basically all they play, and it's what all Love Smith defenses play the vast majority of the time. 

There's nothing magical about it, and the Jags have the tools to beat it handily. They just posted 422 yards against it today. 

They just can't make that many mistakes that keep them out of the end zone.

They scored 13 points, if your offence can't score 14 they aint good.

A glance at a box score and I’d generally agree with that sentiment, but that’s why the games are played on the field and that’s why we watch.  Situations matter and plays at the end of a close game matter more than those at the beginning or middle.

There is no 100% share of blame we should be looking to levy, Trevor surely earned his share, but if we’re identifying the worst play of the day and worst sequence of events of the day that led to the loss, it was the Walker pseudo-turnover penalty and ensuing drive.

That's the Int easily.  It cost us 7 points and could of gave us some momentum

13 points.  Walker’s penalty was atrocious but still just 13 points.  Over throw after overthrow, and even taking the drops into consideration, that pick is unforgivable.  Feel free to blame the defense all you want, Trevors mistakes put the games on the line.

I just saw a couple overthrows on some really deep balls... most of them were in the hands of the receivers which were dropped... I would say there was at least 15 drops today in the hands of the receiver... And 13 points is 13 points but when your defense fails on the last drive to give your team a chance to go down and score field goal to win the game... you give up a touchdown that's on the defense 100 percent...nothing matters prior to that It comes down to the defense giving up a touchdown to one of the worst teams in the league on the last drive.... Even if Trevor doesn't throw the interception in the end zone... Let just say he scores a touchdown... The defense still allows the Texans to score on the last drive and tie up the game.... I'm going with a tie game with 3 minutes left regardless of what happened prior regardless of the score... the defense gave up a touchdown It's just unacceptable.... It could have been a 42-42 game the defense gave up a game-winning drive with 3 minutes left in the game

Yeah I don't agree with this 100%. This is putting it all on Lawrence... And honestly I don't really consider him a second year player I'm giving him a pass on last year... Regardless there's a lot of factors that come in with those losses.... My argument is the defense not being able to stop a team when it counts in the fourth quarter with minutes left in the game

Passing game was working on the drive he threw an interception in the redzone on. Go up 13 to 6 there and guess what? Pederson starts running the ball more I bet.

That drive was basically run, then pass, then run, then pass etc. ETN carried it 4 times on that drive for 10 yards. Lawrence ran once for 6 yards and threw it 4 times.

Rush for 2 yards, pass for 28, rush for -1, pass for 17, scramble for 6, rush for no gain, pass for 7, rush for 9, then the INT. Worst part about the INT is that Trevor could of just tucked it and picked up the 1st down easily.

I think Trevor needs to do this more often. I know he is not a "running QB" but this helps the offensive overall because defenders have to worry about it. Then passing lanes may be a tad bit more open later in the game.

Agreed. I'm still on the Lawrence train and have faith he'll be better as the season goes on and better again next year but there's plenty he needs to improve. My main worry from last year with Meyer was Lawrence losing that confidence he came out of college with and at times last year he looked like he had the world on his shoulders and it looked different this year but the last 2 weeks have been bad for him. How a player responds to these moments let's you know what you have. Everyone has bad games but the spotlight on QB's is 10 times any other position and I don't want to see him trying to do the 10 things the coaches are trying to get him to correct but playing fast and using instinct.

He's still a talent and the best we've had at QB for a while but I want to see him have that confidence and swagger.

Really So go back and watch how many dropped passes on the last two drives of the jaguars in this game.... And really was it Trevor's fault that he got sacked in Philly and fumbled the ball...Now I kind of put that on the offensive line.... Washington yeah trying to force a play down the field got intercepted [BLEEP] happens It happens to the best quarterbacks.... But the problem is if the defense made the last stop in Washington we win.... Philly was a [BLEEP] show but we were still in it eight points with five turnovers.... This game...defense stops the Texans gives us the ball back with two minutes we're scoring a field going winning the game hands down... You want to put it all on Trevor and I'm saying there's a hundred other things that go in with losing this game The Walker penalty literally sealed the game... single-handedly lost the game....

Agreed, he's plenty athletic enough to run, I'd like to see him use his legs a little bit more. Especially since he's great throwing on the run. 

I'd like to see him keep a couple of those zone reads as well. It would help in the run game by keeping the edges honest. I have no doubt he picks up that failed 4th and 1 if he keeps it instead of giving it to JRob. It was wide open for him and probably would have a been a nice gain on top of the 1st down if he pulls it.

If the offense could put up points it wouldn't of been a game winning drive.  The only reason it was is because the offense couldn't put up points all game
