Gerhart agrees to terms w/ Jaguars

Quote:oh whats that, his "timed" speed.

Remember Matt JOnes 4.38? I do.

Gerhart doesn't play at 4.53.

He added weight to be a power back in Minnesota. He can lose a few and gain some speed back.

Quote:I remember saying that the Jags should trade their 2nd rounder for Mallett, and you and others claimed Mallett wasn't even worth a 4th.....now today it comes out that Mallett is close to being dealt for a ..........wait for it..........a 2nd round pick.

Yes, I clearly have no idea what players are worth, do i?
Just because other teams do dumb crap does that mean we should too?

Quote:I'd easily give them one of our 4ths for Brown.

They drafted Polk last year and Brown is a Reid guy, not a Kelly guy, so Brown is a luxury at this point. Given that they drafted Brown for a 7th rounder, a 4th or even our 5th would be a nice profit to them.

Chris Polk was an UDRFA in 2012 when Andy Reid was still the Head Coach.

There's nothing to indicate that Chip Kelly and his staff consider Chris Polk a better # 2 RB than Bryce Brown.  Both have the ability to provide good depth.  Why change a position of strength into one in which could be problematic if an injury to L. McCoy occurs?

Fair deal for both sides. Didn't break the bank, got a nice situational RB who has low mileage.

Expect D-Rob to do with Forsett was suppose to do, expect a rookie and Toby as the 1-2 punch while Todman will be in the mix

HOW IS THAT OVER PAID FOR A STARTING RB? Dude you need to hop off your forum GM chair, this is not much money for an NFL salary. He hasn't done anything? He's been a backup wow are you dense? Did you expect him to beat out AP who might go down as the best RB of all time?

Nah, its reasonable. Its like 3.5 per, and only 4.5 guaranteed.

But they still need a quicker RB to compliment him with, unless they feel that is Todman.

Has everyone forgotten or given up on Denard? He could be that lightning if his carrying improves which I remain optimistic it will

Todman and a second year Robinson will be a nice trio. We saw a couple of flashes from Robinson (remember it was his first year as a RB) last year, the guy is freakishly fast.

Denard. Caldwell loves him. I have my doubts but, he needs one more season.

If Robinson progresses as I think he will they will be a great combo. Gerhart should be the "lead" back of the two with DRob as the 3rd down and spell back. Split touches something along like 13 for Gerhart and 9 for DRob and maybe like 4-5 for a rookie.
