Man, some people are taking the JRob trade almost personal.

My guess is he’s out of the league in two or three years. He’s already banged up and degraded. The Jets will get some use out of him this season. Will he be a FA at the end of the season? If so, another team might pick him up but he won’t be a big yardage producer. We got the best out of him in his prime but he’s on the downhill slide now.

Yeah and they act like the organization should be just as emotional and personal as they are....

Jags made a mistake.  I do not think Travis is going to make it as a RB 1 due to his build.

I don't think they're going to run him into the dirt like a traditional RB1 though. That had to have been factored into their decision with trading away Robinson. They have yet to make him carry the football for more than 15 times in any game this year. 

Just by looking at the numbers. 68 carries through 7 games. 6.1 YPC along with 23 targets through the air with 14 receptions. It's obvious what Pederson wants from his RB's and what he wants to do. As he's stated already this year. His philosophy is "You throw it to score. You run it to win".

He wants to come out and start slinging it until they get a nice, comfortable lead and then he's going to start turning it over to the ground game. Once that happens I don't think you're going to see Etienne too much. It'll be more along the lines of Hasty and Conner at that point.

I changed my mind about ETN and what looks to be his slight build after seeing his toughness over the last few games.  Early on, I thought he would get snapped in half like a twig.  What we don't know about yet is his longevity over what is essentially his rookie season.  As he gets closer to the rookie wall, will he be more susceptible to injury from the hits piling up?  If that happens, and Conner or Hasty can't fill the void, then the JRob release is going to look bad indeed.

He's not a rookie, he stepped on the rookie wall last year and broke his foot.

Stepped away after the latest disappointing loss to the Giants only to log on and see this. ( I got to page 4 of the thread and raced to the end). I have no words. What next? We let Pederson develop Trevor into the QB everyone expected him to be and trade him away? One, exactly 1 winning season since Shad bought the team. The crappy ref calls and non calls, trade away a top 15 RB in the league for a song. Face it, this franchise is a minor league development team for the big markets. The NFL is rigged. Multiple opportunities for Doug to throw a challenge flag on what was obviously a 1st down…nothing. Phantom PI’s called, obvious muggings ignored. Stupid penalties at crucial times, unexplainable stupid penalties! I’ve lost my passion. To everyone keeping the faith, God bless you, you deserve better!

I honestly feel like there may have been some locker room issues regarding him. Pure conjecture on my part obviously, but I feel like his willingness to bash the team as soon as he gets to the Jets lends some credibility to it.

It has to be more than we know. I'm assuming Robinsin was frustrated and demanded a trade.

You dont want someone in the locker room that no longer wants to play here. It's tough to blame Baalke on this and Doug is the right person we should all blame. I love ETN and I think hes by far our best player on offense but Doug should of had J Rob leading this team until he proved he couldn't and it seemed like the opposite was happening.

Good for J Rob. He deserves somewhere better.

Cheer for the laundry. The players will always change. The laundry doesn't change but every 5 years or so, thanks to league rules.

Correction, keeping him around to play third fiddle and not offering him a restricted FA tender at the end of the season would have been wasting a talented back and getting zero in return.
