We currently have the second highest cap hit allocated to the defence in the league, $103m. There are 3 first round picks and the first pick of the second round in it.

Is the performance by the unit acceptable given all the investment. Is it worth continuing to pump so much resource into it.

Can the DC survive based upon this

You don't fix this quickly, all this emotive nonsense in the fan base is the failure to recognize that simple fact.

That's what I'm thinking. We need to coach up what we have and see who's good enough and we need to draft players that fit the system and FA'S that add quality to the roster.

Sadly that's mostly on Baalke who hasn't done great.

I’m starting to believe this defense is incapable of generating negative plays. Those early season turnovers were a mirage.

The defense looks really tired, much more than they should be. Maybe there is an issue with playing after the London trip?
