Trump starting in on Ron

Listening to Brian Kilmeade today, several callers said they voted for Trump twice but are now throwing their support behind DeSantis because they’re tired of Trump’s antics.

You can include me into that group.. Loved Trumps policies and his toughness, but he took a full one way trip off the reservation..

DeSantis is the man!!

But will definitely vote Trump again if DeSantis doesn't run. I would rather have Trump in office with his policies than a democrat with no policies, or policies that will further hurt our economy..

I hope it works out that way, just remember, the calls are screened... always have been.

That doesn't change the fact that people prefer DeSantis over Trump for the reasons Homebiscuit pointed out.

100% agree.

I can understand why Republicans might prefer DeSantis over Trump but it doesn't change the fact that he's still on the far right side of the Republican party. He's just (apparently) a little less spurious.

His being on the far right of the Party speaks little about his principles and much about the leftward lurch of the Pubs.

Yeh.  Saying no to genital mutilation used to be pretty mainstream...

The Republicans have moved left on some things and right on others.  As of now, DeSantis is basically at the center of the party.

Both parties have factions that have drifted towards extremism. I miss the days when the Republicans were about small government, fiscal responsibility and personal liberty. DeSantis speaks to the part of the GOP that embraces Trump who's about as extreme in his outlook as say, AOC is in hers. Neither philosophy aligns well with the principles of democracy.

Here's Trump lying again, this time about how he sent in the FBI to help DeSantis win his first election for Governor.

https://www.businessinsider.com/doj-vete...on-2022-11

"In interviews, four former FBI and Justice Department officials told Insider that Trump's claims were almost certainly false, calling them "bogus," "ridiculous," "complete nonsense," and "made-up crap."

"No possibility. Secondly, if it had happened, I cannot believe we wouldn't have heard about it long before now," a former senior FBI official, who asked for anonymity to discuss the issue candidly, told Insider. "It just looks like a rant."

Yet here we are having this discussion because there are no other choices and it's unfortunate.

Trump? Tell a lie? A lie that is both baseless and dangerous at the same time?  He would never! OK maybe he did.  But surely this was the first time!

FTFY

You know, Gore invented the Internet.  Biden was a truck driver.  Kamala was bussed.  They all lie.

With that said, Trump just needs to go away.  The mere mention of his name incites the opposition and he is losing the moderates.

Remember when Trump insisted thst he was not a politician, and people like you would parrot that as some sort of defense of his character? Now you admit he is a politician. Thats progress, i guess.

There is a large difference between mere self aggrandizement and implicating the FBI in an illegal vote rigging scheme.  Be serious.

I'm not excusing the lies Gore, Biden, and Kamala spread, but, they had no consequence on anyone else's career. They were not dangerous lies.

As an aside, Gore did work on a bill that helped fund the research into computer networking.  Gore told much worse lies on the trail, lies that were meant to make him seem like a common person when he was actually a Senator's kid.  Lies that he was involved in union organizing and things like that. The internet thing was just exagerrating.  Gore's other lies, he was actually making stuff up.  But, no one else was hurt or implicated in Gore's lies.  Most people are smart enough to tell lies that only involve themselves.  Trump is not.

He wasn’t a politician in 2015 until he was elected and then later sought reelection. For the record I was never a Trumpster, but that aforementioned moderate that he has lost.

Maybe not in your mind but you are.  Because you are aligned with them you forgive their lies.  Furthermore you’re reqding too much into Trumps rant.  It is his usual narcissistic way.  “If not for me Desanto’s would not have won in 2018”, and that is exactly why Gore, Biden, Kamala and everyone else up there lie, to make themselves look better.

Finally look at you run to Gore’s defense with the he was on the committee…. Gore lied and is a weasel at best.  If half the rumours are true concerning his military service, he downright cooperated with the enemy, but that is another topic.

Sure, other politicians have told lies, but I've never seen anyone lie as often and as obviously as Donald Trump. He lies literally all the time.

Really?  We all have worked with a Trump.  He is the classic “Topper”.  What ever story you tell Topper will have one better.  He was just on a National stage.  Doesn’t change my original stance though.  He just needs to go away now.  He served his purpose and exposed the corruption in the swamp like no other; wait for it, because he was an outsider.  Hopefully there will come a day when the Trumpsters see his faults and you NeverTrumpers will see his worth.  Until then he just needs to shut up and go away.
