Love the awsome job Caldwell has done..

Quote:Bleacher report gave the Jaguars a "C" for Beadles signing.   Just like Gene Smith, mediocrity.

Do we still have to play the games?

Or should we just take their grades and try again next year?

Quote:Newsflash... Beadles isn't a difference maker.  Decent to pretty good LG, but not much more than that.

We just paid our brand new LG the same type of salary the Ravens paid their starting LT. That's why Casserly praised the move. Universally (outside of Jaguar land), Ozzie and the Ravens are being applauded for the deal they were able to get Eugene for.

This doesn't take away from the job that Dave has done (which has been solid), but let us try not to be jaded and criticize the Ravens just so we can prop up Dave while the rest of the NFL gives the Ravens props for this Monroe deal

so that averages to a B. I'm content with a B.

Monroe got 37.5 million /5yrs /19 guaranteed

Beadles got 30 million /5yrs /12.5 guaranteed

I guess it depends on what you mean by "same type of salary."    Monroe certainly would not have signed for what we gave Beadles.

On top of that, Beadles is close to being top 10 at his position, and fits this scheme (unlike Monroe, who BTW played very poorly once he got dealt, and wasn't lighting the world on fire while he was here either).

Beadles is paid pretty close to just about right where he should be.

Monroe was very good on the Ravens, and average in the new ZBS the Jags wanted. The move made sense for both parties and it has worked out well for both parties Why can't it just be a win/win deal jeez?

Maybe, by "same type of salary", he means both are paid in U.S. currency.

DOLLARS!   Okay, I understand what he was saying now.   Thanks.

Yes, they get the same type of salary.

When asked about Mack he really didn't deny having any interest. Will be interesting to see how that situation advances.

I really like what Caldwell is doing.. now if we can hit on 1 A level player and have a great draft I think we will really be going somewhere. Either way I see vast improvement next year.. not playoffs per say but they will be a lot more fun to watch.
