You had no patience for a talented rookie QB is a horrific situation and you were wrong, for months, and you still want to believe you were right even as you try to weasel your way out of your own admission.

Then tell me what I was wrong about. I pointed out flaws, he had them. He's gotten good as of late.

This is the last thing i'ma say about it. You can take it however you want to. Lawrence has been killer since the Raiders game. I have nothing bad to say about his performance since that game. If you wanna argue a point of what I said, at least understand what you're arguing. I wont be replying to it anymore because I say the same thing and it just flies over your head.

Pardon me for chiming in, but the problem with your previous posts is the lack of context.  You just straight up trashed the guy and never put any context on it, never said anything like he's in a bad situation, he's a rookie, or players generally take time to develop.  You just wanted to argue that he sucks.  Now you say, "Well he did suck, and he's gotten better.  How was I wrong?"  You can't weasel out of it like that.  You tortured the board for months with that completely negative take, free of any context about the situation he was in, and now, people understandably are taking great pleasure in rubbing your nose in it.

Well, you were wrong so…

I just disagree with the piling it on after one comes around. The “not letting people forget it” thing.

Agreed. We’re allowed to be wrong and then change our minds when presented with new evidence.

I swear when I talk to you or NYC it reminds me of when I tried to explain to my grandma how to use a smart phone. I had lower expectations than what we're currently seeing, and he's playing good football right now. He still sailed passes and made dumb decisions like the two goal line ints, or the other 3 ints he had this year on the first play of a game winning drive attempt.

Again, just because he's gotten better dosen't thanos snap from existence the bad from before.

The point of all the pushback you've received, though, wasn't that you pointed out he sailed passes or made poor choices where or when to throw.

It's that you chose to see them as permanent flaws, and saw to it that every discussion was an opportunity to pat yourself on the back for "being the voice of reason" as so many counter-arguers on this board like to say their posts are.

In spite of those lapses, many saw TLaw droping passes in tighter windows than any other QB we've ever had on the roster, or making throws that avoided catastrophic mistakes, or fighting to the final whistle while the D folded like lawn chairs, and those were readily dismissed without any consideration because it failed to support (in your own words) your rash judgment.

It's just as frustrating for everyone else trying to explain to you just where you slipped up. You jumped the gun and thought everyone else was wrong for not jumping with you.

I've been in so many Reddit online arguments with idiots. In my mind, there was never really a doubt about Trevor Lawrence as a franchise QB. I remember having to defend our QBs like Blaine Gabbert, for crying out loud. And some of these kids are talking about, "we need to bring back Minshew".

LOL.

This Trevor Lawrence kid is only 23 years old and he looks every bit the talent as Herbert, as Hurts, as Burrow. We only have 5 wins. But besides the Detroit game, he's kept us within striking distance of every single game. This kid is something special. He's already better than any QB I've ever really watched as a Jaguars fan.

Mark Brunell was one hell of a gun slinging, pocket scrambling, wheelin' dealin' son of a gun. I remember as a kid watching him play every now and then, but I was a Dolphin fan back in that time. I just thought he was fun to watch and was a pretty good QB. But Trevor Lawrence? He's got all the skills of a Brunell, but he's got that extra in him. He's not looking to scramble, he's not looking to kill you with his legs. He's looking to kill you with his arm. Brunell always seemed to be a Farvre type QB. Just running around to fling that son of an oblong, fly by the seat of your pants type player.

Trevor Lawrence is not that. Trevor Lawrence is smart. He's calm. He's looking. He's dealing. But he's not wheelin'. He's shot takin', But he's not shakin' bakin'. He's Limousine riding, but he's even keeled, not high flyin', He's team building, not kiss stealin'... WHOOOOOO

Dude is a franchise QB and he's taking this team and this city on his back to the promised land. And when you have the Nature Boy as your QB, WHOOOOO, you have the world on a string

Yeah, I guess it does.

If you don't want me to defend my stance don't attack it. Seems simple no? My take was never that he wasn't going to be good or didn't have talent. Again, not gonna go over every point again but just for example, said he overthrows passes consistently @ Clemson, and you'd be a straight liar to say that wasn't an issue for the first year and a half of his career. Because he got better dosen't change that he had that issue at one point. It dosen't vindicate your stance of "hurr durr i told u he was always good the entire time hurrrr" because regardless of what you thought OR what I thought, it's impossible to know weather or not they can or will improve their weak areas. If it was that easy, teams wouldn't ever miss in any draft.

But go on grandpa, get it.

Get over yourself.

If you put your arguments in the marketplace of ideas, to the extent the market does not like your ideas, you should expect your ideas to be attacked.  You should either sufficiently state your case when you initially present it or be prepared to subsequently defend it.

Just about everyone you are interacting with in this discussion has had to defend an assertion made on this board.  Hell, that's all I do.

Listening to Fox Sports 1 while I'm working...

Colin Cowherd is actually giving Trevor Lawrence respect. Then his idiot dude sidekick said, "It took him a while to get going"

LMAO!!

Even Cowherd shut him down, it's his 2nd year!!! LOL

Dude the bias against this team is real. I can't wait to hold these receipts next year... "It took him a while". Dude's 23 and on the worst franchise for over 15 years!

Chris Simms and Colin Cowherds idiot sidekick... Jason McIntyre.... Keep those receipts boys....

Those Sundays where we lost and then had to spend the next 4 hours hearing how terrible Lawrence was really wasn't fun. Can remember posting I hope we win just so we can have a break from it for a week. He wasn't the only one but they made a [BLEEP] Sunday even worse.

And now it's so glorious to see Lawrence be and do all the things we said he could and would. It just needed time and patience. Like a lot of us said over and over again

Preach my man.

And it wasn't just 4 hours. It was like 5 straight days leading up to the next game where we had to hear how bad he was. Or that they should select a QB in round 1 (people even said Hooker) or that they should have kept Minshew and started him or that Beathard should start and let Trevor watch.

It was some of the dumbest things every written on this board (and that's saying something).
