It was great to see the same score Agnew earned with nearly half the quarter drained to boot.

He's that kid that you will eventually watch become that guy, and then we can watch him become that man. There were so many Bull [BLEEP] critiques of Lawrence. He's too soft. He has no dog in him. He doesn't really care about the game. He's lacksidasical. He's not accurate Look at Trevor Lawrence. He's more than just a competitor. He's a team leader. He's a gun wielder. He's a Rolex wearing, god fearing, jet plane riding son of a gun! WHOOOOO!!! He's the Nature Boy! You can't tell me otherwise. He's taking this team to places we haven't seen.
The fact that Dougie P said that the last touchdown was an adlib .... That they didn't know what he was doing but he did shows how bad a Man this kid is going to be

As for the criticisms of his "lack of fire" etc., People tend forget how important it is to be stoic and unmovable in this league. It's basically a new season every week. The most un-emotional men tend to have the most success at this level. At least that's what I believe.

It's just a matter of taking your lumps, understanding you're not going to win them all but you're certainly not going to lose them all. When he's on fire play wise his actual fire comes out of him. Rightfully so. It's understandable. Nobody wants to hear [BLEEP] coming out of your mouth when you're the QB and not making enough plays. He was quiet his rookie year but you can see now how he truly is with quite a few big games, big time throws and the performances he's had this year. Give him another year and a play off appearance and I bet he'll be more along the lines of an Aaron Rodgers. He'll be cool and calm in the media circus but on the field he's going to be giving guys the death stare after they [BLEEP] up or getting a lot more vocal with calls being missed, blown assignments, etc. There's arrogance and then there's a quiet confidence. He has a quiet confidence and when the game gets big he's seeming to get big as well and make big plays. That's what you want to see out of a generational talent. Aaron's more diva than I would like to ever see out of Trevor, and frankly a bit of a dick sometimes. I'd prefer to never see Trevor calling out one of his guys publicly on the field like some of those guys do. It feels like it's more about making sure everyone on the planet knows something wasn't their fault as much as anything.

Here's an interesting article by PFF.

He’s making an average OLine look good. He’s taking average playmakers and making them look really good. That’s the true sign of an elite/franchise QB. Can you elevate the players around you to play better? And he certainly can. (12-13-2022, 03:28 PM)scottyg Wrote:I would say a young Aaron Rodgers. Old man Aaron Rodgers is a dick. Uche Nwaneri does youtube videos where he shows how bad our line play is. https://youtube.com/@UcheNwaneri He's not just making the receivers look better, either. Zay, Christian, and Engram are all having the best year of their career, and it's not a coincidence. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Did we feel this way after 2016 with Bortles? I can't remember. Looking back at the stats, the guy was ballin'. 35 tuddies and 4400 yards is a pretty good sophomore year.

If you couldn't understand that Bortles and Lawrence aren't from the same planet by week five of 2021 you need to rethink everything you think you know about NFL quarterback play. Many young players flash. But not all flashes are created equal.

It was that 3 game run in 2017 against the Colts, Texans and Seahawks (and the Steelers Divisional playoff win) that got Bortles that 2nd contract and fooled Mgmt into thinking he was the long term answer. Threw for 7 TDs 0 picks and averaged 300 yds during that 3 game stretch. That says a lot about how desperate we were to find even an above avg QB.

2016 bortles was alot of garbage time stats and TDS when we getting our [BLEEP] kicked.
2022 stats is Lawrence having us in every game but Detroit. Bortles 2017 was good. We led league in offence drives that year and were really good in the red zone.
My tendency is to worry, and I do worry he may have an average game against the Cowboys stingy defense. We shall see
