Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude.   Next season I want him gone.

I believed the whole time. 6 wins was the minimum but I expected this offense to start elevating itself with Pederson and Lawrence. Massive big boy test coming up this Sunday at home with Dallas. If we beat those sons of [BLEEP] we're winning this division. BOOK IT. We're going to win out, run the table like the 1996 team and we'll be the media darling down the stretch and going into next year.

JUST KEEP BUILDING AROUND LAWRENCE. That's all I can say. Just keep adding around him. Get him the best lineman, get him the best receiving threats at ANY position and everything else will fall into place. He's [BLEEP] playing lights out right now. We all know it. We all see it. Consistency is there. Just needs that X receiver, a little more time in the pocket and a steady ground game.

He's living up to the hype now and putting all doubt to rest. He's a completely different QB out there. That confidence is rising out of him with these clutch games and big wins. He's taking accountability. Putting the team on his back. Making the right reads, making the right decisions. He's [BLEEP] awesome.

I REALLY want to see the offense of Trevor slinging it to Ridley/Kirk/Zay with Engram at TE and Etienne at RB. Solid line play from Cam/Shatley/Fortner/Scherff/Taylor (or Little). If Ridley is HALF the player we think he is, that will be a HIGH POWERED offense.

If we go into next year with the same line there will be inconsistencies just like this year. We need to stop hoping these guys finally turn the corner and make plans for when they inevitably fall on their faces. The lack of sacks are because Lawrence is getting the ball out fast. The line is holding this offense back in every aspect.

I totally understand everyone's criticism of the offensive line and there is some validity to it. 

Having said that, given the number of positions with average or below average production and the salary cap situation of this team, the Jags would need nearly perfect hit rate in FA and the draft over the next 2 season to fix all them during Lawrence's rookie deal. Once his Rookie deal is over, they simply won't have the cap space to fix all of them. 

I'm not saying they should give him a horrible offensive line. But they are passable right now, and over the course of Lawrence's career, that is probably what he will have to deal with. In fact, most elite QB's don't have elite offensive line production. Maybe 1 or 2 studs but normally those guys were drafted and on cheaper rookie deals for most of the time. It simply because of the cost/benefit analysis.

We have a lot of youth on defense and it's a new scheme with a new coordinator.  I think it'll be better as time goes on, but we've gotta get at least a CB.

Look at KC.  They rely on one or two impact plays on defense every game and just outscore everyone.

Other than that I'd leave well enough alone.
But what if the NFL took a note from college football and put all of the divisional games at the end of the schedule? What if every year for every team was kind of like this year for the Jags, where you have high stakes rivalry games at the end, where almost every team still has a chance to win their division?

Other than that I'd leave well enough alone.
But what if the NFL took a note from college football and put all of the divisional games at the end of the schedule? What if every year for every team was kind of like this year for the Jags, where you have high stakes rivalry games at the end, where almost every team still has a chance to win their division?

That would work to create excitement in some divisions each year, but you’d lose the occasional intraconference game with significant playoff implications in the final weeks of the season.  

I really like the current set up with most teams playing half their division games in the final month or so of the year while sprinkling in some non-division games.  Puts a focus on those final division games but not exclusively so.

No doubt. Over-drafting RBs typically ends in disappointment and disaster. But we definitely need that guy.

Jags are 5-1 when scoring over 24 points in a game but 0-7 when scoring under 24.
