The thing that gets me is if a team like the Cowboys or Patriots were in our exact situation then it wouldn't even be a debate, it would be the SNF game. But as its Jags-T*tans....suddenly its an issue.

Yea agreed.  I'm sure Tennessee being in freefall isn't helping either.  If this were one of those loaded Tennessee teams or if Henry was in his prime then things may be different.

I agree on the premise of the scheduling and reasoning - but I don't think Henry has anything to do with any potential snub.

He has 8 games with over 100 yds rushing this season and is 3rd in the league in rushing yards.  Folks keep acting like he has fallen from some precipice, but he really hasn't.

I think Jags fans may just be a bit traumatized by the 3 or 4 big games he's had at our expense over the years.

Yeah I can count. My point is does it matter?  We have a young team, that played essentially a preseason game tonight coming off a long week already.

Then why ask?

Obviously more days rest are better, even Doug himself said he'd prefer the game be played on Sunday.

More is better to a point. I’d argue we’re better off than the titans from a rest/rhythm stand point.

Are you self-employed? If not, just call in and tell the boss you ate some bad Mexican and have the runs Smile

Could make the argument that the tacks' rest is better because they have so many injuries and really needed it, but regardless of whether we play on Sat or Sun I think they'll be just fine with either 5 or 6 days.

We really have no business losing to the tacks next weekend and it'll be pretty sad if we do.

Not gonna happen.

Jags are peaking - tacks are held together by zip ties, duct tape, and Derrick Henry.

We got this.

They'll wait until after the Monday night game.

Ravens vs Bengals for the division is a possibility. There are several other games also that matter and will have more viewers.

Honestly I keep thinking 1:00 on Sunday I don't want the hype of a primetime game I still have a feeling that we don't do well on highly televised primetime games... And I don't want Saturday to give us the extra day... Just a normal game fly under the radar

Watching Steelers vs Ravens, they said as much. Seems they are trying to make the announcement an "event" PT Barnum would be proud.

If I had to bet- I'd wager 4:25 Sunday is where we end up

Yeah feels that way.  The only reason to wait until after MNF to announce is to make sure ravens/bengals is actually for the division.  If it winds up being not, then we’d be the next option.  Otherwise there’s no reason to delay at this point.

Though I think they’re breaking their own scheduling rule if they wait. Pretty sure I read they had to schedule the Saturday games next week by the end of this SNF game or right after as a courtesy to the teams and fans involved.

Still think Saturday 4PM is likely. It is the only option that keeps it a win and in scenario. SNF the Jags would know if they can make it or not with a wildcard and would make the less watchable than it already appears it will be for national fans.

Yep, just confirmed. Kind of a joke imo, I will laugh so hard if its GB/DET on SNF and the Seahawks win and the Lions are eliminated anyway.

The league deserves that outcome.  Although I prefer the Saturday night slot as a fan.  I prefer Sunday for the players.

If the Jags were ever deserving of a Sunday night slot, this is the scenario and still denied.
