It would be funny. I'll give you that.

Maybe the fans can chug a beer every time he makes a play, plus the chant. If that happened everbank will be really loud next season. You may not understand what they are screaming later in the game if ziggy has a good game but hey, why not.

Quote:So Marks, Clemons, Bryant, Branch... I'm liking it so far. Add in Clowney and yikes!
I agree its not as flashy as say the Eagles or Patriots signing but its less risky too.

I love this from Jaguars.com....

Jaguars DE Chris Clemons on reuniting with former Seattle Seahawks DE Red Bryant: “I know exactly what Big Red brings to the table.”

Sounds like someone has been dipping into the green beer a few days too early.

Basically, but I'm still linking him to Alualu because they both underachieved thus far.  I see a better fit moving forward.

One thing about Carroll/Bradley in Seattle, is guys like Red Bryant and Brandon Mebane were considered mediocre players when they got there. Chris Clemons was a journeyman the Eagles were getting rid of. But they fit well into that defense. I don't have much hope for Alualu at this point. But we saw with Marks last year and Branch at the end of the year that Bradley is getting alot out of these guys. I think Hood could see a similar boost in production.

St.Pattys day is now the entire month of March. I've done 2 St.Pattys day bar crawls and its not even St.Pattys day yet.

I didn't see a Ziggy Hood topic so just thought I'd make a quick comment or two.

Hood was drafted int the 1st round and is considered a bust in Pittsbugh. The dude is a workout freak (see video below) so he may have some potential under the Bradley scheme. All of the Steelers defenders got progressively worse once Casey Hampton (NT) went through his quick deterioration due to age and hits. This was similar to the Baltimore defense when they lost Siragusa -- everyone got worse, then they drafted Haloti Ngota and everyone became much more effective.

Hood intrigues me. CHECK OUT HIS VIDEO <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq53TKUWxNQ' title="External link">http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Sq53TKUWxNQ</a>

I agree.  To be honest, prior to the SB, the Seattle defenders were not household names.

The only thing I did not like about the Hood signing is the amount, $4m per year average over 4 years. When Marks underperformed, the Jags were able to pick him up on a 1 year deal for about $1.7m, and were able to lock him in for about $4m per year once he proved very good here in Jax. Hood's contract is a substantial premium and commitment for a guy that was viewed in Pittsburgh as an underperformer (scheme or not). I hope Caldwell's faith in his ability, as shown in this contract, becomes reality.

its a pretty safe deal since he is so young and really has been misused.  That being said, he has been the starter since he was drafted, in varying positions.  He's great insurance along the line as a glue guy.

$4 mil per is not bad at all for a talented starter. Sure you can compare his deal to Marks, but on the flip side you could compare his deal to DTs making $8 mil per.
