Anyone Else? (Waffle House)

#21

I can't do Waffle House. The food leaves something in me that dies a thousand deaths before exiting. Good on TLaw being a man of the people. Scherff was there too. Saw him in a pic holding a bottle of Ultra Light. I didn't know WH sold beer. Not that I consider that beer, but to eat their own.

And as someone else said, if Trevor did this to stick it to Kornheiser Kornhole, I'm all for it. That dude needs to be recalibrated.

Doug has been teaching the team a lot of background and history of the team to include the crap routinely handed to us from sports media. I can see Trevor wanting to set some things straight while he has the Con. This is his ship now. He is the Captain with Doug as his Master Chief, and he's going to set a course that can't be ignored or disputed.

A few weeks ago Rayshawn Jenkins said in a post game locker room presser that until recently he had no idea the crazy struggles this team and organization have been through. He wants to work that much harder to make this team successful. Attitudes like that translate to something like showing up at WH at one o'clock in the morning after a game.

If Trevor did it to stick it to stick it to Kornheiser, he earns additional cool points.

National Media only like a few cities because they aren't lovers of people. Good on the staff for connecting the team to the roots of the city. Jacksonville has great enduring fans and all these little things just make the fans more appreciative of these good times.

Good on Khan and Son for being committed to Jacksonville as well. The Weavers sold to the right guy. I am glad his patience is paying off.

People like Tony Kornheiser have used it to ridicule Jacksonville over the years.

But does anyone else take a certain sense of pride in the fact Trevor Lawrence stopped by Waffle House after the win over the Chargers?

It's not as though I was there myself to see him and get selfies with him.

It's not as though Waffle House is headquartered here.

But, I dunno.  Seeing him there, supposedly there for two hours, eagerly taking selfies and chatting up the fans and staff there, tipping well, not treating people like the great unwashed masses, brings a smile to my face.  Maybe it's as much a function of Jacksonville not being as much of a 24 hour place as other places.  But it's as if with that one gesture, he gives folks like Kornheiser the finger while endearing himself to scores more fans here in Jacksonville.

Just wins his first NFL playoff game and goes for a victory waffle.

How can you not love that.

I'm pretty sure that was his own beer that he brought LOL.

They had a whole group that went together. Players and the wifes/girlfriends etc. Pretty sure Logan Cooke and Walker Little were there as well. Saw a few different pics and vids going around twitter yesterday.

Cool thing Trevor did for the fans and the employees there. As far as Waffle House itself goes...no thanks.

Food tastes like [BLEEP].

Hahaha, that was great. Good for Trevor

We used to go to the Village Inn, if not Denny’s. I am sure we could have kept going through the list and ended up at WH. Now I think Wawa may be a better spot.

TLaw is the King of the South.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

He definitely isn't a piece of crap or dick like the 2 QBs playing in the other AFC game.

I hope we never see Trevor in an interview talking about the clothes he wears walking into the stadium instead of actually talking football or stuff he is doing in the community to help others.

My thoughts exactly.   Not many places open that time of hour around here.  But nice to know he is down to earth to not dismiss it as an option.  Personally, if it were me, I would’ve just junked on [BLEEP] I had at the house before going there.  But, he is almost half my age.   At his age, I may have done the same thing.

Hopefully after all the super bowls he keeps his humble demeanor.  Although, it’ll be tough with all the cameras around him.  Best of luck TL

Waffle House at 3 AM fueled my college education and partying. Still tastes awesome 45 years later.

It's nice the see royalty mingling with the common folks. It makes them look normal, even if they are not.

Waffle House should find out his usual order and add a "Trevor Special" to their menu.
