Blackmon in car accident
|
Quote:I did. I just pretty much see him as dead weight at this point. If Blackmon were put on the trade block right now there'd be at least 4 teams lining up to pick him up. Primarily because the risk is low and the reward is high. The reason the Jaguars won't do either of those is because he's easily the most talented player on offense and the gain is either minimal or non-existent.

Quote:Non-story. I think the fact that he was not under the influence is a huge, huge indicator that he might finally have his stuff together considering this is a guy that has been under the influence every single time he's been pulled over so far. Could not agree more. But once word gets out that Blackmon has lost Moderator HIGH SCORE's benefit of the doubt I imagine it will cripple his chances of remaining in Jacksonville.
Welcome to Duval, you will be hit.
Geez. Tire blowout is a common occurrence and will happen to anyone, but why is he out at 3:30 am anyways? I've given up hope that he will ever reach his potential. Another Gene miss.

Quote:Soo, he wasn't arrested, wasn't high or drunk. Basically didn't do anything wrong. But because he was out late and happened to get in an accident we should cut him. You guys have never been out at 3 am? Never been in any kind of accident? I'm all for these guys having a social life. They have the right to just like you and I do. However, he's already been suspended once and now he's working on an indefinite suspension. He has no business being out that late. He needs to be rehabilitating his image and earning Caldwell and Bradley's trust again. He's gonna end up screwing around and pissing it away at this rate.
Wow, as I said before, some people here won't be satisfied until this man is on another team having his hall of fame career....smh...
Look at the jumping to conclusions in this thread, and it was totally unfounded. Maybe instead of ultra quick judging, you should be happy that he didn't get hurt and that he's fine. There was no alcohol or drugs involved (allegedly), so I see it as nothing more than some back luck. Or can't a tire blowout happen to anyone?... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:It's a pattern bro.Agree with you on all of this. I was in the same boat for a few years as well. You can drink and act a fool (at a reasonable sound level) in the comfort of your own home/apartment or a friend's home/apartment. It's called being responsible and common sense. But to be out at 3:30 AM is stupid at this point when you're, like you said, under a tremendous microscope for previous stupid behavior and situations just like this. And I hate the excuses that'll follow as well. Being a "young man" is one thing, but being a "young man that just seems to have a knack for getting himself into stupid situations over, and over, and over again at odd times when Police are out" is completely different. And yeah, there probably is a whole bunch of "young men" being out in the middle of the night not involving alcohol, it's called work, maintaing an overnight job, etc. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Quote:It's a pattern bro.Well duh, you're a nobody and Justin Blackmon is a popular football star.. nobody is taking pictures of you.
Quote:Wow, as I said before, some people here won't be satisfied until this man is on another team having his hall of fame career....smh...Everyone seems to be buttblasted by the fact that Blackmon, like many people his age, do not conform to unwritten curfews.

Quote:Wow, as I said before, some people here won't be satisfied until this man is on another team having his hall of fame career....smh... I don't think he will reach his potential here.... Yes if we trade or cut him he will probably go on to have a great career. But sometimes a player needs that to realize what they will loose. Chris Carter wouldn't be a HOFer if he had remained on the Eagles. Trade Blackmon to the Pats and be done with him, unless you are convinced there will be no more problems. Quote:Everyone seems to be buttblasted by the fact that Blackmon, like many people his age, do not conform to unwritten curfews. Its ridiculous. Who of us wasn't out and about at that time at that age. He'll settle down as he ages.... I actually think its a good sign that he seems to be able to hang out without alcohol/ drugs now. Its a step in the right direction. For him, a big step.
Quote:I don't think he will reach his potential here.... because he had a tire blowout?....
Quote:because he had a tire blowout?.... :wacko:No because he was suspended indefinitely and is still making headlines......and not exactly positive ones
Quote:I don't think he will reach his potential here....No. Let him sit here and rot on the depth chart if he wants to be an idiot. "We are who we choose to be."

I'm just bothered by the pattern. He's a young man, but he's obviously not learning. Trouble follows him everywhere he goes. He needs to be babysat just like Dez Bryant was in Dallas.

Maybe he was out getting a piece of tail. Geezus some of you people are judgmental has hell.
Anyway, I hear Darelle Revis pushed him into the guard rail.
We don't need to trade the kid. Honestly, I don't think the majority of this fanbase wants to see that. We all want to see this kid consistently produce behemoth like numbers for our offense on a more consistent basis without the excess baggage.
What makes things even worse, and I can agree with most folks on this subject here as well, is that, if he really, REALLY has a problem. What's his excuse for not getting it addressed then? Because he obviously has the money to get it done, and he obviously has the NFL's benefits of programs to help him clean up his act if he REALLY needs it. A lot of people in this world would love to have that on the table as an option, but they can't afford it. Or don't have that type of support around them. Nobody is saying he can't have a life either. I am twenty-five years old, I go out every other weekend with my fiance and our friends, but we do it responsibly and don't get ourselves into stupid situations every other month. Hearing that "he's a young man" excuse is tiresome. Because it's not a good enough of excuse for what he's done in the past. And I have far LESS to lose than this guy does. It just frustrates me to see a kid with his talent potentially blunder it. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Quote:No because he was suspended indefinitely and is still making headlines......and not exactly positive ones Making headlines because of a tire blowout. A tire blowout....If it was you or me, or even Chad Henne, it wouldn't be a story,
Quote:No. Let him sit here and rot on the depth chart if he wants to be an idiot. I don't see him as being an idiot. He didn't mess up again as far as we know. I do agree with the premise of keeping him here and him either succeeding or failing here, not as a HOF player, elsewhere.
Quote:Making headlines because of a tire blowout. A tire blowout....If it was you or me, or even Chad Henne, it wouldn't be a story,You are acting like I am saying this over a tire blowout. If he hadn't been suspended twice by the NFL, it wouldn't be a story either. |
