Robinson to the Jets

I think both points can have truth to them. If the Jets feel they need him in their play off push they will certainly use him but it’s also smart to acknowledge the potential of giving up a 5 vs a 6. I think Robinson was brought there to provide quality depth after Breece went down and if they need him they will use him and if they don’t then they won’t. Maybe he bust a few long runs at the end of the season as we would obviously prefer the 5th.

This thread might be my new favorite.

He already has 1 go ahead game winning TD in the short time he has been there.  Still 6 weeks to go, looks like they are making sure they don't have to give up the higher draft pick.

yeah, they are sacrificing all his production to save that fifth rounder. Bold strategy.
It's ok to admit you were wrong, we've all been there before.

You wouldn't think but it looks like they think they can make the playoffs and only have to give up a 6th instead of a 5th.  Could of been the plan all along

The only other think i can think of is if he has a personality issue or character issue.  I didn't think so but they said his last game here he slammed his tablet on the sideline, indont think the coaches liked that

...or he's just not as good as some here like to think. Since he's a healthy scratch, one assumes the lingering knee thing while he was here has healed, or NYJ just don't report those things to make him look worse...for the sake of a better late darft pick, of course.

They traded for him because they had a need after their starting RB went down, and apparently, he isn't killing it in NY enough that coaches even feel the need to use use him regardless of next year's draft.

Or they feel is isn't the one player that is make or break the playoffs for them.  If you feel like your team is good enough to make the playoffs the smart thing to do would be doing it and only give up a 6th instead of a 5th and have James healthy for a playoff run when that 5th is out of reach and he will also know the playback better.

in a win now league on a team that is (now) 1.5 games out of the division lead and turning to a third string QB, you think Saleh is dumb enough to handcuff himself by benching talented players? Keep fricking digging, dude, you might strike oil.

Coaches don't care about details like that.  And good coaches would tell the front office to get bent if the front office tried to influence playing time for a player over a petty detail like that.

nah, they need to save up for those guys that are gonna cover kicks next year. White proved he can carry the team, sit all the RB this week!

My god. You are really grasping at anything possible here in order not to say you were wrong.

So now JRob has character issues?!

Wrong about what?  It being a bad trade?  It was absolutely a bad trade imo.  If our 6th round pick becomes a better player than JRob then I'll admit I was wrong, with that said we got lucky the Rams released Henderson.  Henderson is a damn good back as well.

Its possible, I think that's why we traded him.  Said he threw a tablet on the sideline when he wasn't in and I'm sure Doug didn't like that.  He just said he's pissed about not playing after the team just won a big game, not a good look but I see what he's saying.

24 karats.

Thats just part of it, i think its a number of things.  Also gives him more time to continue to heal and have him healthy for the playoff push.  If he doesnt play again I was wrong and if he does you are.

He clearly has an attitude problem.

Robinson was way overrated around here. However, I must say I liked his play while he was a jag.

4 rushes for 10 whole yards! Can’t believe the Jags traded this guy! How can they possibly replace that kind of production!

he is a good back, great vision, lower end speed. but he catches well and seemed to be fine as a duo back, but now he is basically a Backup in the waiting seems to be having a lot of issues.

Crazy. I was told the Jags would 100% regret this trade and he would "kill it" with the Jets...

Love the trade. Just hate that it happened to a guy like James Robinson. Hopefully he's able to catch on elsewhere in 2023. Hell, the ultimate chess move would be Baalke bringing him back. LOL.

Is he not recovering from his injuries?
Last week the jets said they were going to keep him.
In retrospect mom maybe Robinson should have held out for a better contract in 2021.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

JR played in 4 games for the Jets, with 85 yards on 29 attempts. I'd say the Jags would happily take the 6th rounder and lose that production.

Man, what a crazy year. I didn't hate the trade, but I'd have taken the over on 250 yards for Robinson in Jets green. So no 5th round bonus for us.

I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure just yet where Etienne was with shaking off the rust and you always kind of have reservations anytime a guy is coming back from an injury like he had.

However, when you watched the games and how Etienne was starting to not only get more opportunities but clearly show he had more burst and wiggle than Robinson, it was an easy decision. Especially in a pass happy offense.

It was always a good trade because running backs rarely ever come back from achilles injuries. Robinson steadily declined as the season went on.

He's a good guy by all accounts but he wasn't doing anything special here and the Jets made him a healthy scratch many times when they were fighting for a playoff spot.

Yeah. Sometimes that's just how it goes. I still have my concerns with Etienne and the depth behind him. I hope he learns how to avoid taking big hits this off season. It felt like in every game he would get absolutely smacked. Like a comic book caption level smack:

I wonder if there is any team out there for him.

If Henry is traded, Robinson could end up in Tennessee.

Find it so weird how he fell off once he went to NY.. I mean the guy was playing well here early in the season, had a 50 yard td on 4th down.. didn't seem like he was injured.
