What's wrong with my signature? I think week 9 of this past season was the game where everything clicked for him. He finally came in clutch, and then went ahead and did it again multiple times throughout the season. I know people will point to the first Charger/Colts game and say that was his "break out" game, but I think it's a lot easier to put up big numbers when your defense is shutting down your opponents and giving you good field position all game and playing with a double digit lead for 3 quarters of the game than it is to go down 17 and mount a comeback and show poise and the ability to be clutch.

Looking back at it, I don't hate it.  I would have found the Jaguars five starters.  Teven Jenkins, after struggling with injuries during his rookie year, played well in 2022.  PFF gave him a grade of 80.7 which was higher than any offensive lineman on the Jaguars.  Trey Smith was a steal in the sixth round.  He's been a starter since day 1 and PFF gave him a grade of 71.5 last year which also would have also been higher than any Jaguars offensive lineman.  I would like having Pat Freiermuth for the long term at tight end.  We did sign Engram last year, but that money could have been used to upgrade another position.  Trevon Moehig has also been a starter since day 1, although he hasn't fared as well as I thought he would.  Tyson Campbell was clearly a better pick in hindsight.  As for the third round, I liked Cisco at the time and remember considering him for my re-draft, but I thought Joseph Ossai was a steal there. Ossai hasn't been great, but he missed his rookie season with an injury, so last year, was basically his rookie season.  As such, I feel the jury is still out on him.  As for day 3, I already mentioned Trey Smith.  I would trade our entire day 3 Baalke draft class in 2021 for Trey Smith.  My other day 3 picks weren't home runs but would provide depth.  

Overall, not perfect, but not bad either.

For someone who heavily criticized Baalke, this re-draft is pathetically bad after the first round:

Liam Eichenberg (Top Pick in 2nd Round) - PFF gave him a terrible rating of 39.8 last year.  This is significantly worse than all of the Jaguar's starting offensive linemen.  

Terrace Marshall (2nd Round) - Wide receiver who through two years only has a 628 receiving yards and 1 TD.

Hunter Long (Top Pick in 3rd Round) - Tight end who through two years only has 1 reception for 8 yards.  

Elerson Smith (Top Pick in 4th Round) - LB with only 11 tackles through two years.  

Kenneth Gainwell (4th Round) - Running back with 240 rushing yards and 4 TD's last year.

Jamar Johnson (Top Pick in 5th Round) - Has only played in 3 regular season games and has yet to appear on a stat sheet.  

Jaylen Twyman (5th Round) - Has yet to make a 53 man roster.

Cole Banwart (7th Round) - Has yet to make a 53 man roster.

I did not like the Jags draft at all.  I still think the Jets got QB correct.  I am not sold on Lawrence.

I'm sticking by what I said all along. I believe both Lawrence and Wilson will be extremely successful in the NFL. I still think Wilson has a tad bit higher upside, but I think Lawrence is the safer pick. For that reason, I would chose Lawrence.
