Strange is an H-Back. That pick makes sense. He's going to be like a lead blocking FB but will do a lot of misdirection routes and catches out of the backfield. Clearly a system fit and pick. Probably a Pederson pick.

no idea who he was.  reading the scouting reports.  seems like he'll back fill the manhertz role.  maybe they see something special in him but have to think there were better players on the board.

Strange fights his way off the line of scrimmage against press coverage, showing quick, violent hands and good balance.
An excellent blocker on the outside, Strange also adds value in the running game.
He’s also a catch-and-run threat, a creative runner who has good vision in the open field; he’ll be an option to return kicks as well.
Shows good sense as a route runner and provides an enormous catch radius over the middle of the field. Strange has soft hands and uses his frame effectively to shield defenders, making him a major threat in the red zone.
Size limitations are obvious, but he's a tough pound-for-pound blocker.
Looks to get involved downfield and will block multiple defenders on a single play when he can. Understands his role as a blocker.

You guys are funny. You don't even know thw player and you're all whining. I'm a big PSU fan and strange is a really good TE. He's all-round a good player. He made a lot of big catches down the field and he gets after it blocking. You're gonna love him as a player.

I do know the player and I’m not whining. I said it earlier, Brenton Strange was one of “my guys” in this draft. I would have been happy with him at the end of round 3. I would have done back flips if we got him in the 4th, but in the second and passing up on Torrence feels like a bad decision.

He's not a bad fit actually. From what I am seeing. It's funny they picked him because I was looking at Oklahoma's Brayden Willis for this specific role as a RD6, RD7 pick.

He fits this offense. Look at this highlight reel and you'll see exactly what I mean.

I don’t know guys… this was a terrible pick. No way around it. Probably could have picked him in the 5th round.

Strange had 32 receptions for 362 yards and 5 TD last season. He’s 6’3 256 pounds.

He has outstanding hands and quick feet for a big guy. Not a lot of production on paper. Unless Lawrence had a say in this pick, it was an off the wall pick.

But on the flip side, it opens Pederson’s playbook even more since he likes dual TE sets. I’d take strange of Manhertz or Farrell.
