Impact guys are gone but we all complained about the jags lacking depth last year. 4th round is a greta round to get depth. These are key picks coming up.

Multiple teams have traded down. Teams are open to trading down if you make it attractive enough. Even if not, it's still a failure of Baalke. 10 picks on Day 3 are not making this team. Trading for all of those picks is only a good move if you are going to trade up.
Yeah but they weren't tradeups with 6/7th round compensation. They were for higher picks next year or a short jump up with a 5th comp.

Im.thinking we will probably move one of the 4ths for a 24 third.
Id be happy enough with that! As I stated at the start of the day... Whoever we get i hope does well...
I'm just interested to see what the overall plan is!

Probably WR - Outside Corner - LT based on the draft so far, apparently we want backups this year.

1. At first glance, some may be less than enthused about the Strange selection at the end of round 2. I admit I did not study him too much prior to the draft. That said, there are some reasons for optimism over this picck,
A. Penn State has a pretty good and lengthy track record in producing TEs over the years, going back to Mickey Shuler in the 1980s with the Jets, Kyle Brady (also with the Jets and the Jaguars), and most recently Pat Friermuth, now with the Steelers.
B. Doug Pederson hasa track record of being with organizations (1990s Packers, Chiefs, Eagles) who have had considerable success at the TE position. Pederson has workedd with/coached guys like Keith Jackson, Mark Chmura, Tony Gonzalez, Zach Ertz, and most recently Engram last year, He knows what to look for at the position, how to develop the players to play TE in his offense, and how to utilize the position effectively.
C. It seems that Strange won't have to start immediately. Assuming no lengthy holdout or injury by Engram, thed team doesn't have to rush Strange's development. While we like guys to have immediate positive impact, he doesn't have to me rushed if all goes well.
2. Though backup RB sis not leap out to many Jaguars fans as one of the primary needs, the Auburn rookie can be a key contributor on this team.
A. Auburn has a long history of producing quality RBs at the NFL level dating back to the 1980s with James Brooks (Bengals), Lionel "Little train" James, Bo Jackson, Stephen Davis, and Cadillac Williams.
B. Watching the clips of him, he reminds me of the Eagles RBs of recent eras like Brian Westbrook. He has some similarities to Etienne in that neither are the biggest guys, but both appear to have some shiftiness/make you misss qualities, and would appear to be valuable in receiving. With the Bigsby selection, we have the smallest gap in ability between starter and backup since FT and MJD (to be clear, FT and MJD are by far the better RB duo at this point). This is the deepest we've been at RB tan we've been in a long time.
C. Snoop Connor will have a very tough time making this roster.
3. Quick Poll/Survey
With the addition of Harrison in the first round, like at RB, we seem to have a deep and versatile se of OL this year. All things considered, what starting lineup would you like to see this year?
A. Last year's group
LT Cam Robinson
LG Bartch
C Fortner
RG Brandon Scherff
RT Walker Little
B. Harrison Lite-Get Harron's feet wet by starting him inside like Ogden only to move him outside in 2024
LT Cam Robinson
LG-Anton Harrison
Fortner
RG Brandon Scherff
RT Walker Little
C. Emphasis on experience
LT-Walker Little
LG Bartch/Shatley
C Fortner
RG Brandon Scherff
RTWells
D. Moderate Harrison exposure
LT Little
Shatley/Bartch
Fortner
Scherff
Harrison
E. Full Bore Harrison exposure
LT-Harrison
LG-Bartch/Shatley
C Fortner
RG Scherff
RT Walker Little
F. Other
The OL unit that I would begin training camp:
LT-Little
LG-Bartch
C-Fortner
RG-Scherff
RT-Harrison
4. Posing that question above, I think Bartch could be in trouble, especially of the Jaguars continue to address OL with the plethora of Day 3 picks. I might be inclined to now take a risk on Ohio State's Dawand Jones (weight) and Andrew Voorhees (Injury). There are other players that could still help and provide depth. While yesterday was disappointing in the sense the team couldn't trade up for the players they wanted at the bottom of round 3, there are still some good players left. There is an old axiom that goes something like this "Quantity is a quality all its own." Jimmy Johnson believed in accumulating a lot of later picks in the hopes of finding a good player or two late. We have some 9-10 picks left, including four in the 4th round. We need to take advantage.
5. I wonder of Kelee Ringo has any character/injury concerns.
6. One WR prospect I like is A.T. Perry
7. Clark Phillips, Eli Ricks and Ringo are three CB prospects I wouldn't seem to mind-assuming no horrible character issues.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle.
2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game.
3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.
Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
