Let's draft AT perry so we have a big bodied reciever and call it a day.

Antonio fell because he's a slot defender. Didnt make a ton of INT's and is kinda scary if tasked with running deep downfield.

He's an inside the box safety that likes to run and hit but he can cover in the nickel spot. Everybody that was worried about defense last night should be fine with today's results.

Miller - Run and hit backer

Lacy - Multifit rotational end/tackle

Abdullah - Pass rush specialist with coverage abilities

Johnson - Nickel/CB with good run support

We STILL have more picks to add or trade into next year's draft for as well. The one pick that killed me? Will Mallory to the clots. That sucks. Wanted him in our TE room since last year.

I try and flip three of these into picks going into next year personally.

I'm probably reading tea leaves a bit too much, but it looks like they may be getting LB and Secondary defenders who will play well in a primarily zone system that reacts quickly and funnels downhill to the football with aggression.

Feels like a trend trait at this point with their selections.

Warren McClendon, Christopher Smith II, Luke Wypler, Zack Kuntz, Karl Brooks, Jerrod Clark.

Those would all be solid picks in RD6 if still there.

Does that also fit with Caldwell's MO?

Below are CBS's grade of the Jaguars' Day 3 Picks:

Ventrell Miller  D+
Tyler Lacy  C+
Yasir Abdullah  C+
Antonio Johnson  C+

I'm surprised and disagree with the Antonio Johnson grade.  Their comments were:

"Huge, intimidating safety prospect who tested poorly and has a ways to go to become a quality football player. Misses a lot of tackles and didn't get to the football in coverage very often in college. This is about where he should be picked."

1. Skinner
2. Tomlinson
3. Vorhees
4. Brooks
5. McClendon
6. Kuntz

His stock fell big time after he tested so poorly

That’s harsh. I don’t agree.

Seeing as last year was his first year as a D.C. and he made adjustments after the bye, it's hard to know what his MO really is unfortunately. This may be him figuring it out.

Without doing a deep dive - it does seem like this was a positive trait in some of his LB units when he coached the position.

Didn't know Wypler was still around, I don't really know him, but have read some positive things on him as a day three prospect. Could use IOL depth/competition.

Giants landed Gray, RB, Oklahoma. That's a great value pick.

I don't think we'll trade up again but I would love Brayden Willis from Oklahoma here in RD6 or RD7.

This is shaping up to be one of the weirder drafts in recent franchise history, but it will be hard to top some of Gene Smith’s reaches.

Dear me, steady on! They're not holding back there!  Laughing ... We're only in round five, what will their ratings be like by round seven...

All of these players selected today are scheme specific and quality depth. Good chance all of them make the final 53. No BS.
