Quote:People get so attached to one QB that they refuse to see the positives in the other prospects. People get so attached to QBs they fail to realize that none of these guys are top 10 talents, and definitely not top 5. If this team didn't need a QB we wouldn't even be talking about one. If we reach for a guy at number 3 that is truly not a top 5 talent, it's probably going to be Mark Sanchez all over again.....All these guys need time to develop, none of them would beat Henne for the starting job. I know no one wants to hear that, but it's the hard truth.....

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:So youre basing this whole "trade up for Teddy" thing on watching a few clips ? No, I've actually watched every single dropback for his college career.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

Quote:No, it's your opinion.I get it your in love positives your QB Pros: One of the most NFL-ready prospects to ever enter the draft. Has played brilliantly in big games and against top competition throughout his college career. Solid NFL arm strength and terrific accuracy. Very refined throwing mechanics. Mobile within the pocket. Tremendous leadership skills and a very positive attitude. Very bright and willing to put in however much work it takes to succeed. The kind of guy teams want as "the face of the franchise." Overall: All things considered, he is an elite-level quarterback prospect. His game experience, leadership ability, and NFL skill-set are a combination unmatched by any other quarterback in this draft, or in most others. He has a good chance to be able to not only start immediately, but play decently as a rookie. A prototypical NFL quarterback who at the very least, will be a very good player at the next level.
Quote:I get it your in love positives your QBI'm fairly certain Bridgewater could beat out Henne.
Quote:I'm fairly certain Bridgewater could beat out Henne. Btw that was the scouting report for Matt Leinart: http://www.draftclass.com/prospects/index.php?id=138 ....whoopsie.....

Quote:To be fair Bridgewater and probably Bortles could beat Henne out in camp I highly doubt they would, as they don't have a lot of experience consistently playing against guys they would go against on Sunday. They would be better off sitting for a year or two. And I know you will point to games against Florida, Baylor, and Miami, but last time I checked they had about 3-4 weeks to prepare for those games.
Quote:So GreeceMonkE who are your top QB prospects? I like both Teddy and Johnny as they are the only 2 I would give a first round grade. My personal preference would be Johnny but I would be fine with either. However, I wouldn't reach for them. Teddy realistically should be taken between picks #14- 19. And Johnny should be taken #22 or later. But like I mentioned I don't feel either should start right away. I do think the Browns love Johnny, but not at #4 I think they are hoping to get him at pick #26

Yeah, Ben Rothlisberger didn't either. He didn't start until his... 2nd game! Blaine Gabbert beat out Chad Henne in training camp. I think it's safe to say that it's not something that's difficult to do.

Neither did Russell Wilson and he somehow beat out Matt Flynn. Ryan Tannehill didn't and started over Matt Moore.

Quote:I like both Teddy and Johnny as they are the only 2 I would give a first round grade. If you think Bridgewater as a QB is worthy of the #14 pick it is because he can be a franchise QB. If he can be a franchise QB you take him at 3.

Quote:Neither did Russell Wilson and he somehow beat out Matt Flynn. Are really really comparing the teams Tannehill and Wilson faced.....to the teams Bortles and Bridgewater faced??? Also Matt Flynn was just as new to the Seahawks as Wilson was, and the Dolphins cut or didn't resign Henne because they knew they were going to start over with a new guy in the first round. Quote:Are really really comparing the teams Tannehill and Wilson faced.....to the teams Bortles and Bridgewater faced??? Henne barely played his final year in Miami. Matt Moore started most of the year and actually played okay. They let Henne walk as a FA and Moore was the starter. They draft Tannehill, who beat out Moore.

Quote:If you think Bridgewater as a QB is worthy of the #14 pick it is because he can be a franchise QB. If he can be a franchise QB you take him at 3. And it would be a big reach. Esp since the drop off in talent after the top 3 overall prospects is pretty big. Now if we trade down out of the top 5 it would be a better value because we would also accumulate more picks and probably an additional 2nd rounder this year and potentially picks for next year as well. |
