Having a trans influencer is one thing. Leveraging a company to target regions and people who disagree with your views is quite another.

It's what I've been saying all along- corporations are controlled by their shareholders.  To the extent that shareholders are more interested in making money than they are in changing the world, that's what a corporation will do.  And I guarantee you, 90% of shareholders are invested solely for the purpose of making money.  There's no giant worldwide conspiracy for all the corporations to go woke, as some have alleged on this message board.

By the way, Warren Buffet owns 400 million shares of Coca-Cola, and I guarantee you he wants no part of any stupid ideas.

And by the way, this has nothing to do with "lessons learned from Bud Light."  These ideas were stupid enough on their own.

Ah yes, the always sacred 'bottom line', So many fall back on that as the justifier of corporate greed, stupidity, etc; but there is also the hard-to-measure 'corporate good will' that companies should always be trying to foster. If the CEO of Coca Cola or Busch were suddenly revealed to be a promotor of sex with underage minors, I guarantee you that those companies would fire and sever all ties with him/her. Don't want to endanger that 'bottom line'.

It's not a corporate conspiracy, it's a corporate leadership fact.

What point are you trying to make?  Businesses exist to make money.  Do you disagree?

No corporate good will, less money. Maybe no money, if they take stupidity too far. That's my point.

Of course, if a company assumes that everyone is solely product-driven and will consume what they sell regardless of how they behave, then your theory holds some water. I don't believe this is 100% true, but others, like yourself, seem to think so. Companies are certainly hoping that consumers without conscience are the majority.

Red Sox fans snub Bud Light at Fenway Park in viral video: Their concession stands are a 'ghost town'
A TikTok video shows fans waiting in a crowded line at a concession stand while a nearby Bud Light vendor remains empty

Boston Red Sox fans seemingly snubbed Bud Light vendors at Fenway Park on Wednesday, opting to purchase concessions at other stands as the beer brand remains embroiled in controversy over its partnership with transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney.

My brother was drinking a Bud Light stuffed in a beer cozy. My uncle was not fooled and asked him why he was drinking tranny fluid then showed him a before and after picture of Bruce Jenner as Caitlyn Jenner saying that's how he (my brother) was going to end up.
Lol.

That's really funny.  "Tranny fluid."

Yeah, agreed. My mechanic will get a chuckle out of that.

I laughed.

There's also a really funny clip circulating that I can't share here that shows a "redneck" personality saying his friends told him Bud Light would make him gay.

He scoffs and says that's crazy. Then proceeds to begin drinking a bud light long neck, but shoves the bottle halfway down his throat while consuming it.

Bud Light has gotten itself into a pickle. Now the TG activists are saying to boycott Bud Light too. Tranny fluid (thanks Americus) ain't selling anywhere.

Where's Ron DeSantis?  Doesn't he need to weigh in on this?

That crowd was never going to drink Bud Light anyway.  AB Inbev needs to apologize to the blue collar fratty beer drinkers that the ad exec insulted for any chance to survive.

Added to that was the statement by Mulvaney that he didn’t know what March Madness was all about but thought it had something to do with basketball, but he wasn’t sure. Could Bud Light have possibly alienated their traditional customer base any more?

I stand firm that reaching out to Mulvaney is not what has caused Bud Light to tank.  It was the ad exec’s interview doubling down and telling blue collar/frat boys they didn’t want your business.  When you think about it this is not really a boycott at all, just the former loyal Bud Light drinkers honoring the now former ad execs request.

It was the culmination of several things. What's really the head scratcher at this point is how someone could make such a blundering decision. My guess is this marketing exec lives in a world so cloistered from her marketing base that she sincerely believed it was no big deal. Make the bags of outgassing meat she labels as toxic masculine frat boys come around to her world of identity politics and DEI. There was obviously no marketing research conducted.
