Bridgewater Pro Day

#81

Quote:I really don't think it has a huge impact on NFL teams. I think these huges jumps and slides are more within the draft media than on team boards themselves.
people saying he was worth a top pick in this deep draft i think was the draft media than team boards kind of like Geno last year, the media will try to hype up certain QBs

Quote:Doesn't mean he doesn't need time to develop in the NFL. I am just saying he is not an elite prospect. He is not Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan, etc.

Brady and Rodgers both took time to develop. I am just saying all these QBs will need time. They are not true first day starters.

What does he need to develop other than his deep ball accuracy? If teddy starts day one for the jags he will guarantee us an 8-8 record. Minimum.

Guess the QB:

Quote: STRENGTHS
a highly-competitive signal-caller who was has been very productive in a pro-style system during his career. Possesses a live arm and flashes the ability to make all the NFL throws. Displays impressive accuracy in the short passing game. Is athletic and mobile for the position and can avoid the rush and make plays outside the pocket. Has a very quick delivery.

WEAKNESSES
Has a strong arm but lacks premier arm strength and may struggle at times fitting the ball into windows deep down the field.

Quote:Mayock's take: Bridgewater's pro day average at best

http://m.nbcsports.com/content/mike-mayo...t%E2%80%9D

And Mayock once said Jamarcus Russell had the best pro day ever, so its meaningless

"Average" pro day?

"Underwhelming" and "deficient" are words that have been used to describe it.

LOL....can you also pick my NCAA Bracket, I will split the $500 Million with you since you have a crystal ball....

He needs to develop more than just that. If you look at his tape while he does, throw the ball accurately, makes good decisions, and has great pocket presence he doesn't have to make a lot of throws with guys covered. A large majority of his throws are to wide open guys by NFL standards. There will need to be an adjustment period esp with his lack of arm strength he will need to have even better anticipation.

Quote:What did he have to gain? He was unanimously known as the number one qb prospect in the draft and a top 8 pick. Today changed nothing in the eyes of gms who actually know what they are doing.
unanimously top qb? Texans have the top pick and i havnt seen hardly any mocks with Teddy going to the Texans and they need a qb just as bad as us. Plus Teddy isnt even the number 1 rated qb on nfl.com. Teddy isnt even close to a Sam Bradford prospect. Could he be a top 10 qb? Yes but i take the latter

Sorry but that is simply not true. His receivers rarely created any sort of separation. His accuracy was reminiscent of Rodgers these past couple of years. I'm not saying he will be an all pro his first couple of years but he will be a franchise qb that we've desperately needed.

Quote:And for those overemphasizing this, to quote Harbaugh on Blaine Gabbert's pro day: "He was dazzling"

Exactly.

The pro day and combine only sway the people that haven't much of a clue to begin with....and that includes any NFL people that are that wishy washy.

Trust the tape.

If anything, the only news about Bridgewater that was concerning to me was that its being reported that he has lost 8 lbs since the weigh in at the combine.

Which game tape do you want me to break down. Pick any game you want?

You will see how open his guys are.....

If Teddy light up the pro day the haters would say its meaningless, he was areverge the haters say see he's not a 1st round pick, at the end of the day its what the teams are thinking. Good scouts rely on the tape, like has been said, Gabbert and Jamarcus Russell had great pro days, how did that workout?

That is because they are obsessed with the idea of clowney and watt together. That and the texans gm and owner are idiots. Teddy will win more games in his rookie year than both clowney and watt even if they are on the same team.

You still haven't told me why you don't think he's an elite prospect. Please don't say his frame or his gloves. You can't draft scared.
