Quote:Yes, I certainly would. But not in the top 10.

Gabbert didn't teach you anything at all then. That's terrible. You are looking at the wrong traits.
Crab Cakes and Football! That's what Jacksonville does!

Quote:Would you have picked Andy Dalton at #3?
In that draft yes, I had him rated higher then Gabbert, Ponder, and Locker, and i'm on record saying I would pick Dalton at 16, but we traded up for bum Gabbert.

So yea I much rather have Dalton at 3 then waste picks to trade up for a Gabbert

And before people bash on Dalton, tell me this, would you rather suck for 10 years searching for a QB in the top 10, or have a Dalton who gets you to the playoffs every year, while you can still try to find a QB maybe in the mid rounds. I rather have my team in the playoffs every year and have something to be excited about.

Ok well Stafford, Big Ben, Phillip Rivers, Kurt Warner all wear them on their throwing hands

He took the gloves off for pro day.  A pro day described as underwheming and deficient.  Your elevator coming up a few floors short today?

You need to be prepared that we may, too.

I said it before, pro day and combine don't mean much. Except that pro days are supposed to be easy and made to look good (unlike combine). So the fact that he skipped the combine to do the pro day and it didn't come out good, means a little more. I'm not dumping the kid and saying he's not the best QB of the bunch or that he won't be a great pro (we don't know). But if Manziel shows a better pro day, TB's stock could decline. I am a little disappointed it wasn't a better showing and my doubts about all these QBs are now even. There currently is not a for sure Franchise QB. But, I think there's still some worth to take a chance on one of them.

GO JAGS!!

Yeah it's too bad that gloves are banned in the NFL.

If you don't think he's top 5 worthy from watching his games, I understand, but to use his pro day without gloves as a measuring stick, it really makes no sense at all IMO.

Dude on and on with the gloves....in this very thread people have posted other QBs who have played with a glove on their hand. When the NFL institues a rule banning the use of gloves for QBs then it will matter.

Another poster earlier in the thread commented that all of his throws were to wide open WRs which

1) Is far from true watch any draftdreakdown and you will see multiple tight throws against man coverage every single game.

2) Is actually a good thing in my mind. He usually sets up the defense with the plan being to make adjustments until someone is wide open. He also knows how to find the open man because of his study of defenses which again i thought was a good thing.

Quote:And i'm pretty sure Gus Bradley said who ever they draft at QB they want them to sit and learn behind Henne, but if they beat out Henne like Russell Wilson beat out Flynn then the kid should play.
Wilson and Flynn were different. They both arrived to the team the same year. It wasn't like Flynn was already installed in Seattle's system.

Also if you notice the teams with the good QB's don't reach for them....

Exactly, the people that didn't like Bridge before this pro day shouldn't be puffing their chests out, since this should be no surprise to them.....

and the people that like Bridgewater should be smart enough to realize that pro day/ combine stuff means little (or should) in the overall evaluation of the player.

Others have said he had a good pro day. Regardless it's pretty irrelevant. Watch that tape bro. He's number 5 playing QB.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

1) Did you watch it for yourself?

2) Has more than one source described it as "underwhelming and deficient?"

I honestly just want to know. I didn't watch it, and I honestly don't know why he would throw without gloves, but some have described it as average, while others have said it was good. At any rate, I really don't put too much stock into the combine/pro days and never have.

Pretty much this.  Pro days shouldn't sway anyone's opinion one way or the other, IMO.  Personally, my rankings are still 1. Clowney, 2. Teddy, 3. Bortles/Watkins/Mack in a 3-way tie.  I'd be gunning for Mariota next year if we took Clowney/Mack/Watkins.
