Quote: Which game(s)??? Also I never said he hadn't made throws into tight coverage. I said he hasn't had to do it on a consistent basis. Majority of his throws the guys are wide open. I don't care how well you game plan, WRs in the NFL aren't going to be that open... Quote:Then why couldn't Ted. Lol come up with some legitimate criticism please. Quote:Which game(s)???you've been watching Manziel. ...so you don't understand the concepts of a qb using his eyes to move db's and throwing his wr open....
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

But it is a slap in the face to those who thought it didn't matter. Apparently it does. It's not a "choice"... apparently he needs them.

Anyone else remember when Vince Young looked "magnificent" at UTs pro day last year?
He just needs to do some yard work or something and get some blisters on those silky smooth girl hands.

So the cult is getting defensive because he had a below average pro day? 50 grand says if he had stood out, this thread would be 25 pages long by now!
Quote:Which game tape do you want me to break down. Pick any game you want? Break this one down please http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V0qU_vjkMU
I'm the guy that said I would kick the tires on teddy in round 3 and I have no qualms about it. I think people are overvaluing this guy and I have maintained this consistent thought since last year. i do not believe in teddy as a franchise qb. Teddy lovers love to shield every single thing that people detract from teddy. The fact is that there are legitimate concerns: size, arm strength, opponents and I'll add this one and I think its the most telling; He's scared. He doesn't have the cojones to be a franchise qb. I don't mean that he's scared to get hit, he's scared when he knows everyone's watching him.
He underwhelmed against Rutgers on Thursday night football when all the scouts were in town. Now he faltered on having a good pro day when he had time to prepare for it. There's no other excuse other than he felt the heat and the spotlight bothered the heck out of him. I'm sorry to the Teddy disciples but your boy is not ready. For all the questions and reasons that Russel Wilson should been a 1st rounder as opposed to a 3rd rounder reverse it for Teddy.
Few thoughts:
1)Scrutiny against the kid wouldn't have been so hard today had he gone at least through some of the combine drills the other 2-top QBs did(Bortles, MAnziel). He knew all eyes would be on him, perhaps unjustly a bit, after skipping the combine. 2)It's highly unusual that a top QB prospect has a bad pro-day, since they are throwing in their own environment, at their own time, and to receivers they are comfortable with. This does not bode well, and would suggest he would have done even worse at the combine had he thrown. 3)The consensus of the day seems to be a rather 'average outing' for Teddy. Which is of course is not a big deal, and we shouldn't make it a big deal. Buuuuut, it may BECOME a little bit bigger deal if both Bortles and Manziel put on lights-out shows at their days coming up. Doesn't change my opinion much though, I'll still be happy with Teddy at #3 any and every day.
I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Quote:Anyone else remember when Vince Young looked "magnificent" at UTs pro day last year? And there's Cam Newton from a few years ago. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...y-pro-day/ By no measure was this Pro Day outstanding. CBS Sports draft analyst Rob Rang gave Newton a “B,” conceding that he “would’ve given Newton a ‘D’” for his Combine workout. SI.com draft analyst Tony Pauline rated Newton’s workout “solid, not spectacular.” Quote:I'm glad he had a lack luster pro day, hopefully now the Texans pass up on himGood thinking! That way if he fails to work here, we can watch Chad Henne or whoever is behind center spend the next few years running away from not only Watt, but Clowney as well. That should be loads of fun.

Could you really tell a difference with and without gloves? Even if he does need gloves to be a great QB, I don't see why that would be a big deal.

That should be loads of fun.Right because we should just forget about his game tape and base our first round pick off a pro day.. right? Teddy B is the best QB in this class. Teddy B is the best QB in this class.Remains to be seen, never said anything negative about him as a player. Just an issue with turning over the number 3 pick on someone who's"game tape" revolves around a bunch of low end teams. BTW, Thanks for proving my "getting defensive" comment right. |
