Very happy to have this done before Training Camp. Hope to see him out there making plays. Hopefully there isn't a drastic fall off in production. Looks like a reasonable number for both sides as well.
Excellent signing for both sides. Engram's financial future is now secure with $24-$25 million guaranteed. The deal was fair based on how much he adds to this offense. He totally fits with the "team first" culture Pederson has created.
My question is how does this signing effect the salary cap. Will it free up any money to add a pass rusher, nickel-back or veteran offensive lineman? There are still quality free agents available who, if signed, could help put this team "over the top." Personally, I'd first see if Yannick could be signed. The guy has always gotten sacks and is certainly capable of getting 10 sacks in the role of pass-rush specialist.
I love this.
The potential earnings with incentives is a high number, but much like the oft-criticized Kirk deal, the guaranteed money aligns with his performance and the current market. I'll try to dig up the post from around two months ago, but I think I speculated 35million over 3 years with 20 mil guaranteed. This is higher, but the guaranteed money is still very palatable from a team/cap perspective. https://twitter.com/Schultz_Report/statu...44704?s=20 Really glad to have the TE room looking good to go for the foreseeable. Also Engram's next couple years is the age at when TE's are in there prime. I see Engram having another career this year in his 2nd year in Dougs system and his 2nd year with Trevor. Man I hope Strange was the right pick, I see Doug getting creative with him
Love this. And it shows the Engram wasn't in it for the money, but the stability.

If he wasn't in it for the money and just wanted the stability he would of signed the multi deal last year. He bet on himself to get the bigger contract. With that said I think the extension was good and fair for both sides. (07-16-2023, 03:53 PM)Charlie Sheen Wrote: Love this. And it shows the Engram wasn't in it for the money, but the stability. Well, it’s partly about the money. This is a business after all but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that and I love that we have him locked up for three years and he’s happy.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

His attitude got nastier as the season progressed (in a good way). I loved his attitude especially in the Jets game. I remember the TV mic picking up his trash talk to Sauce Gardner (who couldn't guard him). Well deserved extension.

Truth ^ Gardner gave up 80 yards ( his highest total of the season) in that game to Engram and other Jags receivers
Another thing about Engram is his blocking has improved a ton. He's only 6'3 240 but for his size he has some grit and much improved in the blocking dept. He made some key blocks for us last year.

Good for Engram, he put in the effort last year and showed what kind of guy he is. Glad he got his contract.
