Speaking of rear ends...I would love to be able to have a good topic on this Center class. I have pretty much finished my Center prospect rankings and I only see three starters and one impact starter, despite many on hear saying it's a very good and deep class. 

 

Unfortunately, as I learned with my pass rusher and TE rankings topics, there's really no point in writing it up because if it's not QB, Clowney, or Watkins you just can't get a good conversation/debate going on here.

Where is stork for you? I say if we could get him I'm the 5th and have him set day we snag a vet for this year he can be good. Zone blocking scheme at fsu and also played other positions on the o line

If anything, the only news about Bridgewater that was concerning to me was that its being reported that he has lost 8 lbs since the weigh in at the combine.

 

He bulked up to impress then, he lost it to be quicker now.   The GMs noticed and are not impressed.  He is a fraud and will fail in the NFL.

Yes, unfortunately you are right. I just wrote about 500 words contrasting the differences and NFL translations in the UK play at 3:40 that was listed, and the jump ball at 16:15 in the Manziel vs Bama cutup that was brought up too...but as you said it would be pointless and I am wearing thin from the debate.

 

I didn't really see the  contrast. Maybe I am blind but to me it was the same type of ball, where only the receiver could get it. But because Johnny has Mike Evans, its a 50/50 ball.

 

But Teddy throws it and its great placement......I just don't get it....sorry....It has to be the same evaluation for both passes.

 

Also, even though I would prefer Manziel, in no way do I want him taken in the top 15. I think he would be a better value taken at #22 - high 2nd round.

 

I am not saying TB is bad, I just don't feel he is worthy of a top 5 pick.

5th round would be ok for him but I wouldn't be too hopeful long term. He has the size and it seems he has the smarts for the position, but he doesn't have the strength, athleticism, or footwork yet...and it doesn't matter as much for interior olineman but he has very short arms.

 

Honestly, he reminds me of our own Mike Brewster. Everyone assumed he was a great prospect because he was a very experienced, known name from a successful big school. Then evaluations started and he just didn't have the strength or athleticism to play the position. As we all know he went undrafted. If, unlike Brewster, he was able to add a lot of muscle and fix his footwork then he might be able to be a starter in a few years but I don't think he'll ever have the athleticism for a ZBS. He is terrible at getting to the second level. 

 

If we wait until day 3 to take a developmental center (Martin, Richburg, and Swanson are off the board) I would want to take Gabe Ikard. He needs to add strength too but he is very athletic and light on his feet. He would be a potentially really nice fit in a ZBS.

I have Swanson as a day 2 pick as well. I think he ends up going in the 2nd though.

 

However, back to TB I know he has a lot of wide open throws against some pretty weak competition. I think at this point we agree that he is a 1st rounder, and we will need to agree to disagree where in the 1st round that is.

Reason after reason has been given repeatedly, but it's summarily dismissed by those who don't agree.  You simply don't want to hear it, and ignore it when you do.

 

See now this bothers me, Because you are doing the same thing to them, they give you examples and breakdowns on why they think he can be and you dismiss them and dont listen to them as well.  It goes both ways.

 

I'm been known to like Teddy but have no idea if he's worth a top 5, top 10 or a 5th rounder for all I care.  The real truth is none of us really know but we all have our opinions about each prospect.

OP here. Just got home. Didn't expect so many posts. Wow....that was a lot to read.....but good stuff. I appreciate the inputs. For me, being a Watkins/Clowney guy lately, this pro day raises more questions than answers. Since he played against a lower level competition and bowed out of the Combine, I was looking forward to him knocking it out of the park today. Who knows...he might have been a bit nervous as so much was riding on this one shot. That said, I feel that it will affect the media and mocksters more than it will Caldwell. He will go mostly on the tape. Personally, I hope all of the QBs bomb on their Pro days. That will make it less likely that someone will risk jumping up in front of us. If Dave has one of these QBs as a legit #3 pick, better chance now that he falls to us. Whether it be Teddy, Johnny or Blake. After free agency so far, I'm thinking we'll go Watson (my pick) but I also see a better chance that one of the QBs go to us......the one that Dave covets.

Why is teddy not an elite prospect? Because he's not 6'5 with a rocket arm?


Elite qbs: manning, Rodgers, Brady, brees. What do they all have in common? Accuracy, high football iq, and pocket presence. All traits teddy bridgewater certainly has.

 

Chad Pennington fits that description as well.  And Pennington was like 6'3 or 6'4 and 225.  

 

I'm definitely not on the Teddy bandwagon and dont want us to draft him 3rd but I feel a little bad for him.  Put in all that time and effort only to disappoint.  Definitely raises some eyebrows but hopefully doesnt hurt his draft stock too much.

lets be honest at this point not many of us are being non biased when it comes to him. The few fanboys drove the others t not like him. I'm a big fan of teddy and even I'm tired of people getting so defensive when any critiques Teddy's game. He's a good prospect but far from a sure thing.
