As you begin to evaluate him as a prospect you see a good QB with a high floor but a suspect ceiling. (Game manager) In the right system he could be decent but he's not a player who will elevate the rest of the team by himself like you would like to see from a franchise QB.


When you step back and look at everything with an unbiased eye there's no way you can make a case for Bridgewater as a QB who should go # 1 overall. He's not a Manning, Luck, RG3 level prospect. He's more in line with the Alex/Geno Smiths' of the NFL world.


He's good but not great.
 

I see him as a game manager, and a game manager is not someone I want to take with the 3rd overall pick with the elite talent that will be on the board at 3.  I can see teams stacking the box on Teddy with no fear of his deep ball accuracy kinda like they did with Gabbert.  Not saying he is as bad as Gabbert but teams will see he cant beat them deep, especially against the nfl defenses IMO.  Sure you can go and pick out a play here and there but its a weakness even when the WR has the corner beat.

 

What Mayock and Warner said is also true, just more question marks

 

Mayock said that while most quarterbacks have good pro days because they are able to script the workout and are throwing in a controlled environment, Bridgewater's workout was "average at best." Mayock said he saw "a lot of flutters, a lot of inaccuracy."

 

Warner said Bridgewater had problems with his weight transfer, which led to some poor throws. "Accuracy starts with your base and balance," Warner said, and Bridgewater struggled in that regard Monday.

 

"I have seen a couple of balls hang on him a bit," Warner said

 

Warner said Bridgewater's mechanical issues can be fixed but that a question is how long it will take

 

I dont want a QB with that many question marks at 3 when you have players at other positions who are considered to be elite!

Teddy, Johnny, and Blake are 2011 all over again. I wouldn't take any of these QB's in the top ten. Without a doubt though, Cleveland takes a QB in the first round. They opened that door right on up with all of the cuts made at QB. I wouldn't be suprised to see Manziel go #4 overall to the Browns, Bortles #8 to the Vikings, and then see Bridgewater fall all the way down to the Bengals at #24 overall.

Tha Jaguars aren't interested in either of these guys at #3. And I am glad they aren't. If they take anybody it'll be either Khalil Mack at DE/OLB or Sammy Watkins at WR. And the only reason they went to Teddy's PRO-day is to hopefully bait a team into jumping up to #3 to take Bridgewater since Cleveland was so kind (and stupid) enough to make it well known to the public and the rest of the leauge that they have their hearts and hopes set on one particular QB already.

I think Cleveland will take a QB in the first round but I think it will be with #26 instead of #4

I thought about that too. With Cleveland. But, I think if they wait until the bottom of the first round, that's when you potentially risk missing out on the QB you really needed. They tried that before and ended up with Weeden and he was just cut not too long ago. If they wait until the 26th overall choice. You miss out on getting one of the top three QB's of this year's draft. Because I have a feeling that the Bengals are going to take one of those QB's with the 24th overall pick, when, just like the Browns, Mr. Brown of the Bengals opened up his mouth about his desire for a better QB to lead his team.

I think this plays out similiar to how either 2007 or 2011 ended up with the QB position. It's all smoke and mirrors this year. And I doubt the majority of the QB's taken within the first 64 overall picks amount to much in the NFL. You might get an Andy Dalton out of this class but that's about it. For the most part, I think we're looking at a bunch of Trent Edwards', Troy Smiths', and Tyler Thigpen's.

Last time I checked Joe Flacco wasnt even a top 10 pick. And he benefited early on in his development by having a tough defense....something we dont have yet.

Does it matter? Your throwing the competition argument at me and I'm saying he played at Delaware and had a phenomenal postseason and won a Super Bowl.

There was a good chance that since they need a QB real bad.....good chance they take Bridgewater at #1......now, they are more likely to pick Clowney instead.....was just watching Jawarski and McShay saying how the GM's were visibly not impressed. I fear that both Clowney AND Watkins will be gone before we pick....

That is what matters at the end of the day, I just feel a talent like Clowney or Watkins would help us more ATM...,



Again TB isn't a bad QB prospect but I don't feel he will start next year barring injury to Henne. I would rather take a guy who I know will start at #3.


Now if we happen to trade down, then great because it is a better value with the extra picks we get.
