Anheuser Busch Fires Its Entire Marketing Department

Billy Busch urged Anheuser-Busch InBev, 'Sell it to me. I’ll be the first in line to buy that brand back from you. And we’ll make that brand great again'

The heir to the Anheuser-Busch company has offered to buy back his family’s old company from its parent company if it was looking to sell it.

Billy Busch, whose family sold Anheuser-Busch to InBev in 2008, declared he would be the "first in line" to buy back the company and "make that brand great again."

The beermaker heir provided comments on an episode of conservative host Tomi Lahren’s "Fearless" this week, almost five months after Anheuser-Busch endured a major boycott for making trans woman Dylan Mulvaney one of Bud Light’s spokespeople.

I doubt Billy Busch has enough money to do that.

Do you think banks and investors would back such a transaction? I ask because I know your background is in finance.

It would probably be a good size private equity firm that would have the financial wherewithal to buy that company.  And if they did that, I doubt they would want Billy Busch to be the CEO.  just because his name is Busch, that doesn't make him qualified to run a beer company of that size.

They originally sold out for $52 billion so that's going to take an incredible amount of money to buy them back.  This is all pure speculation on my part, but generally speaking, I would assume the transaction would involve a large amount of equity and a lot of borrowed money.  Somebody would have to put up about $10 billion and borrow about $40 billion.

Again everything I said is pure speculation, and not based on any particular knowledge or expertise on my part although I have been through a few transactions on a much smaller scale.

I saw this yesterday and was going to post it but got sidetracked trying to keep up with my grandson.

Yeah, he looks stupid now. Not that the beer shooting video made him look intelligent.

The Bud Light coolers stayed full at the Miami preseason game. I don't think putting a team logo on the can is going to solve their problem.

Did the divorce cost you that much?  I can loan you some money, so you at least have good beer for the game Sunday.

I like Mich Lite better but Miller is a close 2nd and my cheap beer choice until AB apologizes for telling me they don’t want me as a customer and ask me to come back.

Mich light was nice but it's rare to find it at my publix anymore.  It's a little heavier than Miller too.  And ultra is too light IMO.

I agree with both of you. Chick Ultra is okay, but the Light has always been one of my favorites. Hopefully it becomes more available in the future.

Yuengling Light is by far the best light beer that I have had.

I like Yuengling but it makes me sound like the brass section of an orchestra pit the next day.

My son brought up some beer from Swamp Head brewery in Gainesville. It was a really good brown ale called Spiffy Squirrel. Same effect.
