Don’t trade Rourke. Just keep him as insurance, unless a truly great offer comes.

I'm watching Doug in his post-game press conference, and he basically said CJ Beathard is the #2 QB. The way he said it made it seem like is set in stone.

We'd have to waive him first, and I think he would get claimed and we'd lose him. Ps players are cut first, then can be signed to the ps. If no one wants to sign him as a free agent then he can be on the ps. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Makes me wonder if they already have a team on the line that is willing to trade for Rourke. Whichever way you look at it, Rourke is value for this team. Whether he’s a backup or trade bait, he’s bank. We can’t let him hit the street. (08-19-2023, 04:09 PM)Newton Wrote: Don’t trade Rourke. Just keep him as insurance, unless a truly great offer comes. I don't see any way the Jaguars cut Rourke. While I never see the Jaguars getting a trade offer like they did for Rob Johnson, it is realistic to believe that some quarterback desperate team would part with a mid-round pick. Rourke will continue to be 3rd on the q.b. depth chart behind Beathard due to the experience factor. If the Jaguars don't get a decent trade offer, they can still continue to develop him to replace Beathard as early as next season as the back-up q.b. No doubt the kid has great instincts and maturity.
Was looking like he was going to make the 53 as well. Bummer

I'd love to see Rourke get two series with the 1st string O against the Dolphins next week, but I don't think it will happen.
Ok catching up
Why the [BLEEP] is our o line dropping like flys At this stage we r going to be putting chaisson at guard lol
Winning games is a good habit. Completely got the time of the game wrong so not seen the game but looked at the box score stats. Rourke is impressing but think we'll try and get him to PS. Most teams keep 2 QB's and you have more experienced QB's still unsigned so not sure if a team would straight away put him on their 53. I think they like CJ for his experience to help Trevor but not sure how much longer Trevor will need that.
I'm just so happy sering this team executing and making real progressive steps. It's nice not having to try and find some positives or talking what stuff we need to get right for Week 1.

Sadly I do remember that and I remember seeing our #1's getting abused by, I think the Pats #2's. Painful. What Doug and his staff have done with this team is incredible. You saw all the self inflicted wounds that lost us games at the start of last year but the team worked and started making game winning plays and getting confidence and from what we've seen so far, we are still moving forwards. Can't wait for this season, I'm ALL IN BABY!!!

Run blocking and Special Teams is going to play a big role in who wins that 6th WR spot.

The Lions are considered to be at least a c-favorite to win their division after last year's success. The fact that our reserves totally dominated in this game says something. Of course, all that really matters is if Lawrence is able to stay healthy. Without him, as is the case with other strong teams with great quarterbacks, the team would not be able to close the deal. That's why the rash of injuries on the offensive line has me concerned. I really hope they can add another solid lineman who can play tackle in case Harrison's shoulder continues to be a problem. Possibly a trade can be worked out prior to the start of this season. I'm actually less concerned with the pass rush than the offensive line the way things are looking now.

That’s a bummer about Hodges. Hopefully we can put him on IR so we can keep him.
Can add the rookie OT Harrison to this list, but he'll be playing come week 1.

Really not good that our Big guys are dropping like flies. Big Guys are the foundation of football.
I think we may have to trade for a G or NT at this point |
