Bridgewater Pro Day

Quote:He didn't have to show us anything. He showed us more than enough through two full seasons of extremely impressive games. The combine and pro day combined mean literally less than one game of evaluation against EKU. Anyone that says otherwise is just trying to be a contrarian or wants to stir up debate. It won't change a thing for any teams either.
This is getting ridiculous. Promises. Promises. Yeah, right!

If this is your definition of "wide open", then the other QBs are throwing into the ocean when it comes to their WRs.

Blowing a Pro Day after avoiding straight competition at the Combine is a red herring. If the pressure of the Pro Day is too big for him to handle.. a controlled, familiar environment. How is he gonna handle the front seven of an NFL defense?

I just don't see how people can blow this off like it doesn't matter. If this doesn't raise some red flags I would be absolutely shocked.

People have had bad pro days and turned into good players and players have had amazing pro days and turned into horrible players.  Maybe if someone was just completely on the fence about Teddy, then I could see, but otherwise it shouldn't really change anyone's opinion if they had based his ranking off of game play.

You don't throw out 3 years worth of film because of one solid, but not spectacular workout. Neither should you do the same for one great workout.

The teams won't. Does it matter if some message board chuckleheads do?

I am not sold on Teddy. He could be a top ten QB or he could be Shaun Hill. I am thinking he will be closer to the latter. When I saw the tape, I saw more underthrown balls than I expected. That won't fly against NFL secondaries. I also saw a lot of average defenses. Teddy didn't have a great game when the Jags sent a small army to see him play last season and he didn't have a strong workout when we sent a small army to his Pro Day. If he was Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning, we would all be able to see it.

The guys WRs are more than 3 yards away from the closet defender......

Are you saying that isn't wide open? I would call that wide open for anyone. My point was he is not going to have that many wide open plays in the NFL. And that is concerning because a large majority of his completions were to wide open guys.

Here is thr thing if the glove makes him so much better. How good will he play in the rain? When his glove is soaked and he has to factor in the weight? Will he wear it it in 110 heat?

If he cant throw as well without a glove. Is he really that good?

Quote:Im still waiting for all the people who dont want to pick teddy at 3 to explain why they dont like him as a QB.

All the answers so far have been: He just sucks, face it. He doesnt wow me. He doesnt look like a franchise guy. Media member X says hes bad.

What is it about him? Do you not think he uses anticipation? Do you think hes too inaccurate? Do you think he cant read defenses? Do you think his arm isnt strong enough? What qualities as a player is he lacking. Still havent heard any actual response.

His film is not that solid, esp this previous year. I see flashes of greatness but not consistency.

His presnap adjustments are good but he also changes to the wrong play a lot of times as well.

I see him throw with anticipation at times, but a majority of the time he is throwing to open guys and not throwing them open.

I see great accuracy at times, but there are also a lot of balls that aren't accurate at all....

I have also seen a lot if check down passes, which wouldn't be a big deal, but considering how open he is use to having his guys it makes me feel he won't throw a ball that is open by NFL standards and become a captain check down if forced to start right away....

What of guys who don't have pro days?

Certainly if a guy who had an average pro day has red flags, then certainly a QB who didn't have a Pro Day is doomed to fail, right?

Sincerely,

Kurt Warner

I'd say Shaun King is a shell of his former self.

So Teddy should go to work at the local IGA and throw paper towel rolls in the back room?
