Quote:What If we take Clowney at 3 and Ford in the 2nd round. Give me your Opinions people.

Given that we just added all those DE's in FA, I think the above would be a waste as we'd be avoiding other positions of need with top notch players available.

One of the above? Sure, thats cool. Not both.

My football team has too many sacks.

- No one ever.

Uhm....the problem is...if we draft both of them, then we're ultimately (likely) going to have to cut one or more of the DE's we just added. Hence, inefficiency, as you are trying to address a wide area of team issues, not only pass rush.

I'd be fine with either/or, but if Jacksonville took both then the D-Line would have too many players, meaning some of the linemen will be cut. That could be a waste of talent, whereas a starter at another position could've been brought in.

Quote:And a C and a RG.  In fact, I would allege that we have a QB already, but we have no one at C and RG.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Maybe.

No Harvey wasn't even that good with my Gators and Groves was decent lb and if we draft ford he will see time at Linebacker and Leo. Del rio was stupid to play Groves at De.

But a good QB will make up for other issues with the team better than a team can make up for sub par QBing...I know you are on the Henne bus right now...but he is hot garbage and will "lead" us to either missing out on potential great QBs by winning 8 games this year or to a miserable season again.

Quote:I feel both are going to be good/great but we just have to many other needs to fill. Not to mention we now have some real depth at that position after free agency.

What if they dont perform to your expectation than what ? I mean they are good but as for age development I dont think the pass rushers we signed have that high motor anymore ( Rusty ) Perhaps.

If we win 8 games this year that wouldnt be a bad season, double our wins 2 years in a row i could live with that

Like many have already stated. Give us Clowney or Ford but not both. If we didnt just sign Clemmons and Babin then it would make more sense...Take Clowney at 3 then instead of Ford take a real OLB like Shazier and im very happy.

Lol. Harvey couldn't hold Clowney's jock. I don't remember teams triple teaming Harvey in college. I don't see why anyone would compare the two because they're nothing alike.

Needs constantly change. If Dee Ford is there at our 2nd pick, and he's the best available player, take him-- Even if Clowney is our first pick.

None of these DE's that we picked up in FA are core players...

While true there doesn't seem to be a gaping hole in the DL especially if Clowney is taken @ 3.

We have huge holes in C, RG/RT (depending on where Paztor settles), OLB along with other holes @ CB/WR (blackmon?)/FS.

If you have Ford as a 90 but have a Gabe Jackson/Sua'Filo/Shazier/any position listed above as a 87-88...I think you take the 87/88 player over Ford.
