There's really no logical reason for it when you consider the goals of any NFL team when the season starts. The goal is to win your division. We're 4-2, and 1 game ahead. I do not ascribe to the concept that just because a person is the HC or OC of my favorite football team, that they are perfect leaders of men or even genius football masterminds.  I think Doug Pederson is a very good coach.  And I will continue to think that untill he shows me that he isn't.  I will not be a "In Doug we Trust" type fan.  Sorry.  

Conversely, I thought Baalke was a clown and needed to be fired.  And yet, now I have no issue with Baalke continuing on as GM.

You're type of question is that which made us stick with Gus Bradley for half a decade.  Instead of trying to minimize my opinion, maybe you should re-analyze your dogged loyalty to people you don't even know.  Instead, maybe think of things objectively.

Maybe the team isn't bad because of only the O-Line.  Maybe the team isn't bad only because of the OC.  Maybe the Franchise QB is struggling because the OC is calling garbage plays.  Maybe the Franchise QB is looking better because the play calling based on down, distance, and situation also go better.  Maybe it's important to sit your Franchise QB when he's got a knee ligament strain...

These are all things to consider.  

So, to answer your question...

NO.  I don't think the coaching staff are morons.  But that doesn't mean that certain decsions they make are not worth criticism...

To the bolded, what are you even talking about? Get a grip.

My point is that the coaching staff (which has certainly earned the trust of fans to this point) has much more information on Trevors knee than you do. So why not, in this one instance, trust them?

You can criticize play calling, personnel decisions or even game plans..... But let's not criticize the decision to put Trevor in when you have absolutely no clue what the situation actual is at this point?

Doc Murphy on 1010 this morning says that not only should Trevor not be playing tonight, but he thinks he won’t play.

The thing with that is, no one knows what injury he really had. Just a "knee bruise/sprain" 

Is it a bone bruise? A MCL/ACL strain? Literally just a big superficial bruise that hurts a lot? It could be any number of things that could influence that decision. He's going off his medical opinion on what should be done for the best healing outcome. Of course, in a perfect world, Trevor shouldn't play and let it fully heal. But this is the NFL. I still think he plays tonight.

I look to Burrow and how he was gimpy in the preseason, he still played every down that counted because he was able to stand upright and still attempt passes.

I have seen not one thing that leads me to believe that Trevor's injury is any worse than what Joey B dealt with.

Trevor may not be lights out accurate or we may not have the luxury of rolling him out as often, but unless he's in a cast I can't fathom that the team would opt to sit him.

No telling how bad the injury is.  From watching the game on Sunday, it didn't necessarily look bad to me.  He had a slight limp.

Depending on the injury and the fact that they are on a short week, I would probably err on the side of caution and sit him.  Even if the injury at this point is "minor", the fact that it's been on the injury report tells me that it could become "major" rather quickly and easily.

In my opinion, losing your starting QB for one game is better than possibly losing him for the remainder of the season.
