1010XL the new flagship home of the Jaguars?
|
I have a good feeling (perhaps naively) that 1010XL is going to be a great move for the team. To me, WOKV seemed to do little other than carry the games and minimum amount of team related shows. 1010XL already has embraced more Jaguars programming, as evidenced by their having a 2 hour dedicated Jaguar show. I think we will also see them with a huge presence at the games themselves.
With WJXT, I would like to see them bring back The End Zone.

I really dont see them getting a show on 1010XL with all their sports programming. I have a feeling you will hear a lot of backlash about 1010.
I believe they were on 930. I applaud their effort but for the most part, their show was pretty amateur. Not sure if they will get a second year.

One thing I will say is thankfully we won't have to hear this Jay Gray clown on the postgame show. I like Marco Coleman but the other guy was awful. Made me miss Cole Pepper.

I listened to the first show for a bit, but kind of fell off after that. I'll be honest, I stick to 1010 and don't jump around. The afternoon guy completely turned me away from 930. I don't know who runs 930 but they clearly have no interest in putting out a good product.

I never listen to talk radio. After that embarrassing loss, I was driving into work and was thinking " what was that station... ". I got it right. I tuned into 1010xl. I enjoyed listening to it. I wS working out of WGV and the reception sucked but was able to listen. Then I googled the station and saw 92.5 was the fm station.so through it my day I listened to 92.5. The next day I decided to bring an old cell phone that had an fm radio on it so I can listen throughout work. The reception sucked so bad I had to turn it off ( this was Tuesday and in the mandarin area). Wednesday (today) I tried again with different earbuds since that is my antenna, and it worked fairly well. I decided to buy a personal am/fm radio and also plan on a trip to best buy to make my antenna more powerful.
My question for you guys that know more than I do is this: a pocket am/fm radio should be better than what's on a phone? Yes? Also the pocket radio gives me the ability to listen to am. Would the am reception be better than fm? What are good ways to boost my reception? From limited research I'm looking at a 3.5 mm splitter with my earbuds and a thicker 3.5 mm wire in the other as my antenna. That would work right? If not any better ideas on listening in the 210/WGV/ mandarin area?

Jaguars Monday, The Gus Bradley Show, Jaguars Thursday, and 1.5 hours of Jaguars Today 5X a week. Plus The Scoreboard Show and The Postgame Show.

I don't use an iPod so I've really no clue about the whole podcast thing. I think the radio I ordered will do just fine. I'll find out tomorrow when it comes in. Do you have to lay for the podcasts? Ps, thanks senior for your suggestions. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
92.5 fades near Mandarin, especially as it gets dark and they turn the power down. AM is usually clearer but, less FM-y if that makes sense.

I first tuned I to the am station and it was alright but sounde as if I was watching a non hd tv station. The tried 92.5 and it sounded how I wanted it to. I know what your saying.

I DL them at my house with Wifi and then listen to them throughout the day while I'm driving or whatever. You don't necessarily need an iPod to listen to podcast, I think any smart phone will do. And no problem, you're very welcome. |
