No "franchise" QB is this draft per Baldinger and Evans

These guys breakdown what I and others have been saying for a while.... Though I feel guys in this draft could eventually develop into a franchise QB it won't be immediate and they all need time to sit and develop IMO. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Didn't watch because Evans is a moron and I don't care what he says.
They have an opinion just like all of us. I disagree and think there will be two franchise qbs found early in this draft (blake and teddy).
If it wasn't for the fact that Jamie Dukes still exists, Baldinger and Evans would be tied for the "Dumbest ex-players under contract" award for NFLN.

The only analysts whose draft-day opinions mean much to me are Mike Mayock, Nolan Nawrocki (despite his apparent death grudges against certain players) and, to a lesser extent, the man who wears a Facehugger to work, Mel Kiper. Everyone else--especially McShay--can talk all they want, but it's mostly white noise for me.
For the people who hate what these guys have to say about their QB (whether you like TB, Manziel, or Bortles, etc)...
Do you really believe there is a QB in this draft as they mentioned that would take us from a 4-12 team to a 10+ win team as soon as we draft him??? And then continue to carry us to the playoffs every pretty much every year after that????
Quote:For the people who hate what these guys have to say about their QB (whether you like TB, Manziel, or Bortles, etc)... whoops question placed in the middle by accident.
@1981
You are right there are only a few examples of that. And do you know why? Because those kind of guys aren't available each year. A guy who has potential, isn't they same as a guy who can do it day one...... You're basically saying reach for a QB because you need a QB....... But I would ask how many teams with franchise QBs reached for him? All the teams that had/have franchise - HOF level guys had that guy fall to their pick, or they weren't drafted at all. They didn't reach..... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Breaking news for the fan boys, not to the rest of us Very true.

Quote:For the people who hate what these guys have to say about their QB (whether you like TB, Manziel, or Bortles, etc)... Their opinions on really anything mean nothing to me, but I'll indulge you. 1. That's extremely rate and would mean a LOT of lucky breaks that we don't normally catch went our way. The Colts aren't a great team even with Luck, they had some real fortunate bounces go their way along with playing in one of the worst divisions in the league. It's dumb to ask any rookie QB to come on and replicate what Luck and Griffin did their rookie years. 2. Pretty much the same as the first answer with the caveat that with the way Caldwell is building this team, it's something that's definitely possible. The main thing is that the team actually improves. Say we take Teddy/Manziel/Bortles at #3 and improve on last year's record by 3-4 games. I'll take that all day long because that's improvement and that's all I want to see next season. After that, provided we didn't make the playoffs at 7-9 or 8-8, then double-digit wins and playoffs should be expected. Quote:For the people who hate what these guys have to say about their QB (whether you like TB, Manziel, or Bortles, etc)... Your standards are WAY too high. Under that rationale, Elway, Aikman, Manning, Favre, Rodgers and many others would all not be drafted by you, because none of those guys immediately turned around the teams they were with to that degree in their first seasons. Aikman went winless in his first year. Was he not worth the top pick in that draft, which included Hall of Famers Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders and Derrick Thomas in the top 5-6? Peyton Manning went 3-13 his first season with the Colts. He would be another Hall of Fame caliber QB that would fail to meet your standards as expressed above. Aaron Rodgers first year as a starter saw the Packers finish something like 5-11. Would you have joined Jerry Glanville in trading away Brett Favre because he stayed on the bench in the first year even after being drafted in the second round?!? For that matter, wouldn't you have been among the then 28 GMs that passed him up in the first round in the first place? Montana? No, he wouldn't have been worth it either since he wasn't a starter his rookie year. For that matter, neither was Tom Brady or Terry Bradshaw. I can understand misgivings about the QBs in this draft. But if the above quoted represents the standards to which a QB must meet or exceed to justify a top draft choice expended by you, you'd never draft a QB. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
I think these QBs will be franchise guys:
Teddy Garopollo I think these could be: Bortles McCarron Murray I think these will suck Manziel Boyd Thomas We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Your standards are WAY too high.Agree with this completely. It isn't about what the guy does his rookie season. It is about what he is doing 5, 6, 7 years down the road. Quote:I think these QBs will be franchise guys: I haven't seen anywhere near enough of Garappolo to make an informed prediction, that's pretty much how I see the QBs in this class. I might switch Garappolo with McCarron and/or Murray, but I pretty much agree with this analysis. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
i really dont know enough about garoppolo to say for sure but im sticking with teddy being the best qb in this draft by far. i think he will be a franchise guy. again, i know he had a bad pro day, but when the pads come on he flips a switch and hes lights out.
i might need to watch some footage of garoppolo though. i read a lot about a "lightning quick" release
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
