Trevor has to get more trust in receivers. That toss from Purdy to Kittle is the type of trust Trevor needs in Engram. Toss it up, let your guys make plays, expect them to run their routes appropriately.

I can understand some of the takes by posters.  They probably watched it on TV.  Unless you were there and not inebriated it is very hard to appreciate how thoroughly our OL was beaten all day.   Imagine this. You receive the snap and as you are gripping the ball a rusher is coming free and headed towards you. So the task is while avoiding the oncoming rusher survey the field and make your reads throwing to the proper receiver. Halfway through this a second rusher comes free from the other side.  Tough duty.

I thought about what the hell was going on all game. Then it dawned on me. It appeared to be a very hungry proud team with something to prove on a 3 game losing streak to be playing a team on a 5 game winning streak that felt good about themselves. Hopefully, this performance will make our team a bit hungrier for the next 2 critical games.

This. Trevor is capable of elevating the rest of the guys from say average to good. If you have a turnstile ain't nobody gonna manage to elevate that lineman.

There were so many plays where the pressure/penetration was immediate.

And Brady didn't start "elevating" bad Oline play in year 3. In year 3 as a starter, Brady had 23 TD passes and 12 interceptions.

You can be concerned. We all are to a certain extent. But what I'm not gonna do is compare Trevor in year 3 to the 2 best QBs of all time.

Doug's offense has always been a short and mid passing offense, but I can't help but think better line play would allow for more play/pass to get that average stat up. On the wide shot there the deep routes they do call just don't have time to develop because he's getting hit by the time they run out to the 15 yard mark. It's either throw it short or take the sack.

@you forgot the option of just huck it and pray someone gets under it. Unfortunately, sometimes that's the DB.@

I'm still very confident that Trevor could dissect a defense if the line could at least provide resistance to an oncoming rush. But we've been tinkering and testing all kinds of lineups up front, I imagine it's a dang challenge to have any faith in the inconsistency or to know what actually works when we keep going from one failed experiment to the next.

Yeah. I said just before the game started. He wasn't going to have much time in that game. It had to be 1st read not there? 2nd read not there? Get rid of it. Because the odds of him having time to see his 3rd reads were slim to none. 

The problem? Like you said. At times yesterday he was lucky to have enough time to scratch his [BLEEP] before getting to his 1st read. They were certainly throwing different concepts and looks at him. 

I don't think it's a trust thing with his receivers. I genuinely feel Wilkes had our number yesterday on defense and there wasn't a damn thing we could do about it. 

That front three, four - seven came ready to [BLEEP] play yesterday and it showed. They also had our number offensively. Didn't matter what we did defensively. Everything went perfectly right for them and everything went perfectly wrong for us. That's all it comes down to.

This. His first thirteen attempts in the game are you all need to know really. He was sacked three times and hit four times all within those attempts in the first half alone. 

After that? You started seeing them play back a bit and not give up the big play. They had some good looking coverage designs yesterday. It showed. 

He'll be fine. Eight games left for the pad stat crowd. I just want wins.

You know its bad when Baker Mayfield is playing QB better than Trevor. I just can't fathom Trevor struggling so much. It's the same offense as last season just with Ridley added. I hope it's just a slump. Trevor is not playing with any fire.

No line protection for sure. Trevor missed some throws and there was drops. Commentator even mentioned he missed open guys they even showed some replays but maybe hes getting gun shy from the protection idk. I just know Stroud looked much better today.

I mean my goodness … on tank dells two deep balls they were complete busts ! No safety in the middle of the field corner outside leverage so he can just run a skinny post and completely get behind the defense ? Are we serious? And the TD what the heck have we never played a bunch set before ? 

Multiple other receivers with no one in the vicinity and 0 pressure on a Backup o line ?

Watch stroud will end up looking like every other rookie QB for most of the rest of the year ….
