Well the D won us this one again right? They got Trevor his 4 TD's right?

You can praise Stroud but still have to give Lawrence a little shot. What will you do Sunday when Lawrence shows him who rules the South?

I guess that will be down to the D.

I praise consistency. I give Stroud his due because he's been pretty good all year, on top of that he's in his rookie year. i'm happy Lawrence had a good day, he had 2 td passes and 260 or so yards against a terrible team. it's not exactly 5 touchdowns and a comeback win is it.

Egh, he did it when we needed it against the Chargers. I trust him to win a game if we need him to. If ETN didn't go on a tear earlier and if WRs didn't drop like 6 TDs the first few weeks his numbers would look better, he's been consistent for the most part except SF.

 Lol

If Trevor needed to come back with five TD passes against that team you'd be complaining and asking why he didn't just blow a bad team out.

He changes his criteria every week now. He’s been chomping at the bit to reverse his reversal

Really because one of my biggest praises of Trevor which is in my signature comes from week 9 of last year where he clutched up and brought us back from being down 17. Meanwhile i pretty much dismissed his cute stat game vs the chargers n the reg season since the D held them all game.

I'm still not sure where the Shanahan narrative of "Trevor can't get past his first read" came from. We've seen time and time again that he can and does go through his reads. Idk if it was bc the line has been so bad and he hasn't had time or what, but it's absurd to say Trevor is a one read guy.

Yeah. There are those in the NFL and media who are toxically biased against Jacksonville and by extension Trevor, who are rooting for failure. They can bite me forever.

I don't listen to the pundits, unless they're saying something good about the Jags. That's how my information management works.

On the serious side, most of these folks are pulling stuff out of their backsides to fill the time. The 'Jags are 'bad', 'struggling', 'blah, blah, blah' is the default narrative which, quite frankly, hasn't let them down in years past. It's up to this team to change that default narrative.

Seemed to have no issues last year down the stretch and during Sunday's win at home. He'll be fine. People keep forgetting he's only 24 years old and this is only his 2nd year with Pederson and Taylor.

As long as they continue to bolster his protection he'll be fine.

I don't know, but I think you may be misinterpreting it as a Trevor comment when it really is an O-line comment.  Getting to your 2nd and 3rd reads takes time which the Jags o-line has consistently shown for the majority of the year not to be able to provide.  Did he say "Trevor can't get past his first read" or "we need to take his first read away"?  I think it was the latter which means to me, we need to keep him from throwing the ball away quickly so we can get to him which is exactly what they did.

You're correct, that narrative isn't that Trevor can't read the progression, it's that when you swarm the first option he has no time to get to the second. Basic block and tackle stuff, nothing fancy or complex about it.

I honestly don't remember the exact Shanahan comments but the media narrative has been to spin it to "he's a one read guy"

Likely you're right that the actual comments were saying if you take away the first read the OL is bad and he won't have time to get to his second one.

yes - the original intent was "he often doesn't have time to get to his second read" and the lazy mouth breathers out there have contorted that into he doesn't make reads.

Trevor has a great shot to establish himself as the best qb in the AFC south and show Stroud who the boss is. We go 8-3, Texans drop to 6-5.

Doing that on the road in a very hostile environment would be huge for Trevor and the team.

If/when we do that, we’ve established we can win a playoff game again this year - cuz that’s basically what this game is going to be.

So - just curious - will you be changing your opinion on who the best AFCS QB is every week depending on which way the wind blows?
