Eliminating JFF4Life's Baseless Conjecture

It was purported in another thread that no other prospect would garner more support than Manziel, so I'm putting this to the test. Enjoy!

Are you going to prove it by putting Johnny Manziel in as an option?

In my opinion, if JFF has a great pro day, its going to do nothing but help the Jags with the 3rd pick.. It's all a win win situation. If JFF has an awesome pro day then either Houston will take him giving us a legit shot at Clowney, or the chances of taking JFF will increase in my opinion or.. JFF becomes even more valuable to another team who is willing to trade up to take him.. My 2 cents..

Again, I'm basically copying his exact poll word for word for 3 other prospects in order to see how it stacks up.

You can't have 3 polls in the same thread. The same voters are double dipping and saying they would take all the prospects at #3. If you want to see which QB the board prefers you have to have a poll with only JFF, TB, BB and none as the options.

Considering I answered " Hope he falls to #3 and then sprint to the podium" for two different prospects I feel like these polls are unscientific.

OP needs to learn how to make a proper poll.

You're just not gonna give this up, are you?

For those complaining about the poll, I did that on purpose. Refer to the thread "General Consensus on Johnny Manziel." From that thread, here is the quoted:

Quote:

Not necessarily. The numbers are actually a lot higher than you think.

Kid's almost got 30% of the vote on these boards, and that's only taking into account the most extreme cases of getting him at #3, or the most extreme case of trading-up. IMO, adding a few more poll options such as trading down and getting Johnny in the late teens, or picking him up at the top of the 2nd round if he drops that far, might have even a few more votes going his way.

And regardless, you have to of course factor in that this is not say Manziel vs Bridgewater or Manziel vs Clowney at #3,but Manziel vs virtually everyone in the draft who is available at #3. And so those who voted "Don't want Manziel" include a wide range of people, pretty much all those who prefer Bridgewater, all the Bottles fans, all the Mccarron fan(you know who you are Jungle Cat), all those who think we should get Clowney, Barr, trade-down, etc, etc, at #3.

As a matter of fact, other than maaaaaaaybe Clowney, I can't imagine any other player this year getting that high of the percentage(even on these boards) with those same 3 poll options.

Quote:

As said before, the term of the polls are a bit extreme, and I think you're reading the results wrongly/too harshly.

I mean surely you don't think that any player in the entire draft would have over 71%, or even 50% of the votes for the #3 pick on THESE boards do you? Everybody has a different opinion from what I've seen.

So how do you ever determine a consensus then? Well you see who has the highest or lowest percentage

For example Manziel won the heisman will something like 45% of the first places votes, and RG3 won it with something like 34% during his year. Meaning there were almost 70% who didn't vote for RG3, but he had a higher percentage of anyone else...get it?

And so like I said before, put Bottles, or Bridgewater, or some of these other guys under the same three poll questions of 1)take at #3, 2)trade-up, or 3)do not want, and I would venture to guess the results would look something like this,

71% of people "don't want Manziel"

72% of people "don't want Clowney"

75% of people "don't want Bridgewater"

95% of people "don't want Bottles"

99% of people "don't want Watkins"

So then, you still didn't answer my previous question. Under those same 3 poll criteria, would any player(other than maybe Clowney) get higher than 30% on these boards? If not, then simple math would tell you than Manziel is in fact the consensus pick. Now lemme be clear, I'm not saying that's true, but you were the one that brought up 'consensus' numbers.

So, admittedly, I shouldn't have included Clowney. I'll see if I can drop that question and add one for the 3 QBs.

EDIT: New poll question added. Enjoy!

I voted for the following, and I've provided my reasoning below:

1. I don't want Bridgewater - He's not an "elite" QB prospect, he has a respectable arm, but I just don't see "it" when I see him play and when I see him dropback to pass.

2. I don't want Bortles - Again, I don't think he's an "elite" QB prospect, he has a ceiling, and "potential", but, I don't know if we have the right coaches in place to develop that potential.

3. If I had to take a QB, I am going to take the fiery kid out of Texas A&M, and for three reasons. One, he's been succesful and produced outstanding numbers against higher quality and more consistent competition than Bridgewater and Bortles have faced in college. Two, he almost fits today's NFL "Next Generation" QB to a tee. He's short, quick on his feet, can make plays on the run with his arm or with his legs just in general, and he's not afraid to go out and there let it loose. He fits into that same mold as your Russel Wilson and Colin Kaepernick. And then lastly, three, his confidence is there. I believe in this kid when I see him out there. His teammates believe in him. And his teammates feed off his big play ability. If I had to pick right now which one of those three guys in three years from now would have the most success in the NFL. I'd say it's going to end up being this kid.

If you already voted it won't let you vote again on the added poll question so this whole thread is a FAIL.

Already tried that before I posted. That doesn't work.
