I'll just be over here waiting for someone to contort themselves into a human pretzel trying to blame this on Press Taylor and/or Travis Etienne. 

Our line isn't physical enough to block a power run scheme and now they are failing in the ZBS that Pederson/Taylor/Rauscher have put together. 

We need new blood up front and we need it badly. I hope they mix up the recipe on the scheme too, but it is clear these clowns simply cannot block the guy in front of them.

It's frustrating to watch. Etienne has had one game where he ran for over 100 yards and you have to go all the way back to the London game against Buffalo to find it. He has yet to crack 60 yards rushing in any game since the bye week. He's been under 50 yards rushing these past three weeks.

The only shot they have really at gaining any momentum seems like it's on the left side of the offensive line. They would have to do some kind of movement with the TE there as well. It's just awful. They can't do [BLEEP] in the ground game from mid to right. I give Press credit for trying something. 

I know some folks were [BLEEP] about the screens against the Ravens, as it came off as excessive, but, they had to adjust and do something to supplement the lack of running game. They had some success earlier on in the game and then they adjusted and shut that [BLEEP] down. That's when the screens started popping up. 

Then, we [BLEEP] about them not opening up the offense more, and, guess what it results in? Guys jumping early to get a head start in pass protection, thus, creating longer distances to convert and it unfortunately leads to Lawrence getting [BLEEP] slammed into the turf for a concussion. 

They're doing everything they can to protect Lawrence at this point. It's obvious. If I ever see Baalke in public I am going to keep a red clown nose handy in my pocket and hand it to him. "Here man, you dropped this I think". I know it's not ALL on him, but, he has to catch the heat for it. Comes with his job. 

No different than me getting [BLEEP] at by a civilian 200 miles south of my location when they can't cross the road because one of our rail arms at a cross station is stuck and asking people to do the limbo to get by it.

Problem has been.

Line can't runblock
We have no pile mover at RB
Line can't passblock
Trevor has yet to be very good in the redzone, he struggles. 
WRs have dropped / not got their feet in bounds multiple times this year on easy TDs.

We all know what the problems are with this team. It's been regurgitated, one way or another, a dozen times in this thread. The only real hope left now is to end the season with a division title and quick bow out of the playoffs without serious injury to a key player.

Not only did they [BLEEP] on Torrence and Jones but John Michael Schmitz was sitting there as well. I was really high on him too and some thought he was going first round. He started out slow but he is starting to pick it up and he would of been a massive upgrade to the worst center in the league in Fortner. Mind boggling how much this staff loves Fortner who should have been benched by now

It's really a mixed bag and why it's hard to get the run game going. Some of the OL are better at power, zone, or pulling. Trying to call exclusively zone runs won't work. Running from shotgun generally won't work because the weaker inside OL are getting beat. They will never be successful with a single style. They need to get creative and mix the styles up. Using 2 TEs or extra OL will also help. They have to find a way to create a hole somewhere for the RB.

This is where the OC and coaches have to find some schemes the OL can actually do. Continuing to call the same shotgun runs we know won't work isn't going to get it done.

They've done the runs from 13 personnel (very little success) - they've done plenty of runs from under center (very little success)  - they can't do much "power" schemed running because they don't have a line capable of doing it effectively - so there is very little of that until/unless they get stronger in the middle. 

Not sure why everyone is so keen on :
1. Faulting the staff for not running things they have already tried and failed at
2. Insisting they do something they are 100% not built for

The plays aren't killing the run game. The players are. 
I'd love to see them mix up the scheme too - but I know it'll be pissing in the wind until we have a new Center and Guard in the mix.

I think we keep Cam and cut Scherff. With Cam, a healthy Little, and Harrison our tackles are solid next year. Cam isn't a great tackle but he is middle of the pack tackle and is the nastiest olineman we have on this team, average is good for our oline at the moment and we shouldnt let go of average lineman. We have to fix the interior and I think we will be good next year. A FB and some improvement from Strange would be huge as well. I'd love it if we could just improve our oline from 30th-32nd to 14th-16th best oline in the league.

I think we keep Cam and cut Scherff.  With Cam, a healthy Little, and Harrison our tackles are solid next year.  Cam isn't a great tackle but he is  middle of the pack tackle and is the nastiest olineman we have on this team, average is good for our oline at the moment and we shouldnt let go of average lineman.  We have to fix the interior and I think we will be good next year.  A FB and some improvement from Strange would be huge as well.  I'd love it if we could just improve our oline from 30th-32nd to 14th-16th best oline in the league.

Yeah - as much as I'm over Cam Robinson's pass protection - if Little doesn't start looking better at LT we have to consider taking a crack at 2024 with :

Cam - Ezra (if we can keep him) -  NEW CENTER - NEW RG - Harrison

Lord only knows how they will pull that off with all the other deals to get done, but we'll see. 

I think this approach ^ would be the best bet to get a run game on track.

Every year they pass up Consensus and First team All American olineman that are sitting right there at their pick where they should have been taken a round or 2 higher and they reach for players that wasnt even that good at the college level.  Puka might set JJ and Chase rookie recieving records and he had a poor athetism score at the combine.  Ballke wouldnt of toched him in any round with a 10 ft pole.  Doug is a great coach but I dont like the idea of letting Doug get his guys.  Doug was also the coach of the Eagles when they took Reagor of Jefferson.  Doug should have input on the draft and nothing more and Ballke needs to be the GM that does all the contracts and everything else behind closed dorrs that a GM does, then we need to find a guy that is good at evaluating talent.  I thought we were going to do that with Spielman last year and its clear now it was a huge mistake we didnt.

We dont know that, he has had some good games and quite a few bad ones.  He hasnt been that good in run blocking either.  He looks promising but he is going to have to improve a good bit next year especially in run blocking.  His best game so far was against another rookie.

I will be shocked if OL is not a point of emphasis this off season. It’s clear that’s the weakest link of the entire team
